Thanks for the feedback, im glad i seem to be gradually improving with each one >.> first everyone liked kys over sol's, and then baiken's over ky's, now heres 4 in the probably-long series of sigs i will do for guilty gear characters, this one unfortunalty, in my opinion, doesnt top ky or baikens, i just lost direction with it and ran out of ideas on what to do for it.

Thanks, I found a good site for tuts, so I'm trying to do some sigs to get better at making them. I overdid it with the contrast previously and it took away alot of the detail but it looks better now. I had never used the contrast/brighten option in photoshop before so it was a learning experience. Yea for me.

@Lefty: I like the left side, but the right side is a bit dark imo, or at the least make the text a touch lighter.
@PurfektZero: Overall, I like it. The stock images are good, and the logo looks good. The main thing I would improve is the font. It's a bit too rigid imo, need something a little softer. (Although I think the Monkey part looks ok)

i took some of the advice about removing the back stock image, and about the roy mustang text..what i opted to do was just remove them both, leaving the foward stock in place, the image seemed too empty with out it, and took dark with it blending it with the flame like the former back stock image was. As for the roy mustang text, it didnt really seem to have a place in the sig at all, so i just removed it.

Looks good. The composition is more balanced. You've got some jagged edges around the top Roy, though, most notably around his fingers. Might want to go smooth that out.

i dont think "too much grunge" is as accurate of a way to put it, but rather "too unevenly concentrated"

there are distinct borders that form when clusters of grunge meet the non-grunge.....
although actually i dont know if you'd even call that grunge at all.......it looks more like just dissolve filter effects

also, something needs to be done with the naruto pic on the left.......the white patches fade him in an awkward manner, when he should probably be standing out of the background more

fixed the face, I noticed I had colored part of it hair, where it shouldn't have been.
@gaaralovessand: For coloring, I trace the individual parts, and copy from the orignal to a new layer. Then I use Image Adjustments->Color Balance to change the color up. After coloring all the parts, then I go back and add lighting and shadows, by using gradients of white and black at low transparency to gradually add lighting. And I use burn and dodge for the more detailed areas like the fingers. But I'm sure this is not the best method. Hopefull I'll find a method that works well and doesn't take 2 billion years i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif

kage: you need alot of work on that wallpaper, it looks like a half assed job, the cutting on rock lee wasn't good, many sharp weird edges and making it chrome just made the straight edges even more obvious (whatever that blending options is), and the font is just awfull.

It looks ok to me Kage but as Mut said, that isn't a really good pic of Lee to use. I would use the picture of Rock Lee that your using in your current sig, it looks much better than that Lee made by Paint Pixel.

Lose the bevel&emboss effect on the rock lee image, bevel and emboss rarely makes things look good.

You need to either goto the layer your lines are on and do a level adjustment so they are darker, or go over the lines with the pen tool or something, looks good, but defining the lines will help alot. Especially the ones in the midsection and legs

i like the darker lines better, but it still looks kinda sketchy because your coloring over penciled lines, instead of inked. If you want nice looking defined lines you need to ink the lines either with an art pen or digitally in photoshop, other wise it looks good

kagemane: your wallpaper's decent for the most part. It's a personal preference of mine to avoid focusing on a color pallette that JUST black and one other color.....black doesnt really add anything to the color aesthetics of an image. Also, the text you used for "uchiha sasuke" is relatively plain compared to the wild background. You might want to find a more abstract/demonic font to use.

LCD: looking good. I wouldve suggested bolding the outlines more but you beat me to it.
Next thing you should try, is isolating the outlines into its own layer (im assuming it already is, but if you're using a blend to remove any white, try using the color picker to delete out the white directly)
then, activating the transparency lock so you dont mess up the shape of the lines, try coloring over them in darker shades of the hues that correspond to her suit and hair, and maybe even lighter shades to accentuate lighting and depth (of course, this would also mean adding more emphasis to the attached shadows as well)

the sasuke is TOO blurry. change the font (as always), add a border, better cutting on sasuke's foot, the liquidy background doesn't really suit sasuke in my opinion.

I can't think of any good way to make that stock and background gel together.. one of them must go. The liquid effect exudes a calm that the chidori pic you're using just shatters. Either pic a different Sasuke stock or change the background up.

I'd advise a border, even if it is just a single pixel border.

It's just as well you didn't use the pic I posted earlier as it's a little overused.

i put a hue/saturation adjustment layer on the right side of his face, and set the red hues to look bluish and the tan hues to look yellowish

Eh... it's better than it was, NM... something about the "My Little Pony" color scheme makes my eyes burn, though. Perhaps you should consider doing some image enhancement on the stock image... it just doesn't wanna gel with these fancy backgrounds you're using.

edit replying to below: Blending options, color layers, blurred layers... take your pick. Try making multiple layers of your stock and playing around with differeny blending options and filters.

The only technique I know is Duplicate+Overlay, it makes the colors more vivid. I suggest you tone down the background a bit because the color schemes just don't match.

NM, you should work more on your color schemes....the purple clashes because
1) it doesnt work too well with blue, and
2) it has no connection to the images you're using.

take my sig for example, i took the care to adjust hues so they match well together, and i also made it a point to give the sky the same hue as gaara's eyes

and most importantly.......don't disproportionally scale your images!

this is my first time using "grunge" brushes/style, and i dont expect to use it much, (grunge has a nice look, but i think its used too much for sigs and what not), but for this sig i felt it appropiate.The text is kinda plain on purpose. Let me know what you think

2nd 1 is better imo PZ. assertn, if you decreased the opacity of the grunge on your sig it would look better, or change the blending/colour. the vivid black is too harsh atm. also the left side of gaara looks purple which is weird.

not sure if its as nice, but its something different. Wanted to cut out part of the sig to have it be a different shape but im not sure how to do that. Was going to cut out a couple parts then put text where it was cut out but when i uploaded it to my image hosting place instead of the cut out area being transparent with the text the cut out area it was white instead of transparent and it didn't look right.

You should see Send Private Message, then a white box, then be able to click Send Message or Search for User. Type in the admin's name, then go to Search for User.
