Here comes yet another new work, i've been busy with photoshop this past days. This one is the best out of the three newest in my opinion but since Terra gave me the amazing render i used i put his name in it.

On this one I made every aspect, except for her, by hand with the pen tool and lots of other shit. Its supposed to be her on the rooftop of a building. No stock photos used for the bg or even for reference all made in photoshop.

i don't really like it that much, the circles looks like something from a vector work and the background just doesn't have any depth, all there is to it is that "we are going in lightspeed" kind of feel which is destroyed by the vector circles. Get some black in there, work with the depth, maybe some 3d brushes.

yea if your not gonna use brushes, atleast incorporate all the other things. Not just filters, or just smudging. Put it all together.

Thanks. I finally got the borders to work without having to make them 2 pixels wide. I have no idea what I did that fixed it, but now I'll just gank that layer every time I make a new sig. I'm just glad this flows alot better than my previous ones. Oh, and I think I've gotten better at creating my own renders too. Next time I gotta try using some of the brushes and see what happens..

Ero-fan, I love the colors in your sig the most. They really work will with Hitsugaya's Bankai. Also, you might want to do a little more to Hitsugaya himself, it seems like he was just placed there. If your having trouble finding renders, usually the last places I look to is the manga itself or the anime. To take a screenshot from Bleach (this is for Windows Media Player), find the image you want to screenshot, then pause the video. Then press Ctrl I and there ya go. But overall, definetly an improvement, keep it up!

The color of that text doesn't seem to go well with your purple background. You might want to change that. Also, the lighting on the render itself is way too bright. Perhaps you should tone that down to.

Make a new layer, press Ctrl+A (I think I don't remember) and click edit (or the one next to it I forgot) and add stroke. Settings are 1 px and your color and inside.

The render in your second one is much better now, its easier on the eyes so good job on that! I still think you could match the text up with the bg, it still looks blue. If your afraid of making the text completely purple in which you cant see it at all, give the text a stroke (black should do fine). Right click your Text layer, go to blending options. Then select Stroke, and fill in whatever applies to your liking.

As for a border, do this:
1) Make a new layer.
2) Go to Select -> All
3) Now go to Edit -> Stroke
4) Fill in the pixel stroke and the color of the border to your liking.

And thats it! If anyone wants me to, I'll make a quick tut (with images and all) on adding borders in the Photoshop Tut thread since people keep asking.

work on the background and the text a bit. Creative work though, with the Kaiou symbol in the background. Maybe some color and a touch of brushing would make the background look good. Also, try to stick the text in the middle of the Kaiou symbol.

The reason I went with white background was that I wanted to keep it simple. I wanted it to feel kind of like a void. I messed around a little with colours and different effects but it just ended up looking tacky and the symbol just got too dominant. Maybe if I was better at PS I would be able to pull it off though. I don't really know how to make those cool effects and backgrounds that everyone else seems to be experts at i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif (for example in your own Vegeta-sig). Oh well, I'll see what I can do and return with the results boss. i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif

it looks pretty good but the render for cloud isn't that good because you can still see alot of white spots around him from when you were cutting him out, but it looks pretty good

Pretty tight, Zinobi. Just try to darken the Cloud render a bit more, it just looks a bit too weird for Seph to be so dark, and Cloud so bright. Now, don't make him as dark as Seph, just enough so that it fits the wallpaper. Cool wallpaper, none the less, keep it up. i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

Well, the Cloud render needs a lot of work. You can tell that all you did was use magic erase because a lot of white is still left over. You need to go back in and erase all of those. It's also too dark. It doesn't blend well with the bg at all. You should try lowering the opacity of Cloud, or fading a little of the darkness away, so it looks more fluid with the rest of the bg. It's not bad at all and I like the concept, it just needs some more work.

Zinobi, that render of Spike on the right really needs alot of work. No offense or anything, but you need to go back and do a better cut job of him. I can tell you already that the render of Spike you used was not like that originally, he isn't polygonal like that. i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif The render on the left looks like a fine cut job though, so your good on that. As for the wallpaper as a whole, I really can't tell what you were going for in it. Your Cloud/Sephy wallpaper was alot better.

Also, try not to direct link wallpapers on here, just make it a regular link (direct link sigs though since their small). The reason is that it takes quite alot of space on the forum, plus it takes awhile to load. =/

If you play Star Ocean, don't play #3... it blows compared to the other ones.

Either download #1 and an SNES emulator, or even better, try finding #2 (aka Second Story).

Yeah, I think that the colors you should stick with are blue and the yellow you already have Lazy. Since the render is made of those colors, the background works nice if you stick to it. Imo, the green is fine still but its your choice.

Also, if you have that Star Ocean image already rendered, could you post it in the GW Renders thread by any chance? I've taken a liking to that render from Kage's wallpaper he made with it and the one in your sig. i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

i think the nightmare one is the best, but I feel he could stand out more (especially his head). Also, that long red trail to the right of him looks a little, well, I dunno, just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of it...

I just don't like the contrast between Ryu and the background. The two sides of the pic almost clash.

The top one looks pretty cool too.

But what the hell do I know about good quality sigs? Heck, I've only gotten 75% through making my first one ever... (oh, I'll be sure to post it so it can be ridiculed, also would be nice for constructive critiscisms, so I can improve. I sorta like sig making, but damn is it another distracting hobby that I do not need...)

edit: Lazy it isn't done yet! I need to figure out how to screw around with different colors, as this sig is mostly shades of red and black, with a little bit of gold. I'll probably slap it on here some time tomorrow.

@AnimePunk - Of the three posted, I like the Nightmare one the best. The one you're currently using is good, although, it looks like one of his finger/whatever things is cut off at the end (the brushing does, also). The Ryu ones is decent.

@masamuneehs - I do prefer the second one. Not too shabby for your first sig. The text, in my opinion, should be changed to be more readable.

@Deadfire: The Second one I really like. The only thing I can say is that, yeah, they seeem really flat. the thing about 3D renders is that the bg needs to go with it. Try to add some more depth to the bg, ussually lighting hepls with that.

@xDarkMaster: That bg for the Luffy sig is a little lame for the same reasons as above. The Urahara one is nice. The render and bg blend perfectly, but Urahara seems way to bright for such a dark bg. Overall, these seem better than your first ones

I was just thinking though, for the Sasuke/Chidori one if you could 'bring out' Sasuke a little more. By that I mean make him a little more distinguishable from the background (is that the Overlay or Addition format you're using?) Then again, from the Kakashi sig and the Sasuke one it seems that your style is to have a dominant background with the character render sorta 'trapped' in the shading and style of the background.

Yeah, I have tendency to over elaborate transparencies. Actually, when using renders, I tend to set their layers to a lower opacity. It's a curse +_+

I don't like the Sasuke one. The mouth doesn't fit in with the rest of the sig and is just a big distraction to look at. It also doesn't fit the color scheme of the rest of the sig. I know you tried to fit it in by giving it a little blue tint, but there's only so much you can do about the original color of the render.

You can see a number of differences in this one. It's a bit bright though, which I don't like. I messed up the blending again, though not as badly, and I messed up the text.

It looks almost like a collage. Try to keep it simple using just 2 or 3 pictures and making them big.

Much too big for these forums, it was a request from another forum. I tried something new. Now, I have a gif version of this, but my feeling is gifs lose a bit too much quality. This a .png, so if you don't have the correct png-viewing plugins (which come standard with firefox,) then you'll notice a hideously annoying white background.

I dont really like that top layer effect. Never did and never will. Other than than, they all look pretty decent. You should really try using some better brushes. I posted a tut about using brushes well in the last page of the Photoshop help thread.

Don't like that sig, can hardly tell who it is because of all the colors. The colors also don't match or look good together.

Your sigs are good, but it seems to me that most of them are crowded and your trying to fit too much into it.

The new version look a lot better. The only thing wrong with the other ones IMO was the colors didn't go very well together. Other than that it looks great.

Honestly just scour the web for anime renders and hope you can find them. I usually find two or three decent ones a week, but finding nice ones is tough. Most times I just get lucky and stumble upon them.

I guess I should add that I cut some of them out myself.
