Okay, nice new sigs, but watch that size limit! Secondly, FoxFire, since Kimimaro is not yet revealed in the anime, you will be unable to have a sig with him on it, and you should possibly take it down as its considered a spoiler. AlbinoFury had a wonderful Kimi sig but the admins voted that it was a spoiler and he agreed not to use it.

Thirdly, Uriel, nice coloring job on your anbu, but there IS a thread specifically for Naruto fanart, and that's where your post should go for comments. There are a great number of coloring tutorials on the net, check out bakaneko.com and howtodrawmanga.com for tutorials.

if its over 1mb ur doing something wrong, no wallpaper should exceed like 200k, maybe 300k if its high res, your probably saving it in too high of a quality setting.

The idea of using such a border is good i think. Also the pics are, especially the left one fits to the text. But the background and the font are a little bit too plane, and also the formation of the 3 pics in the sig isnt that good i think. (left, center, right) But well, its just me i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif

If I knew a few ways to spiff up the text and the background I would, but I am just getting started with Photoshop, with more creative stuff at least. As for the pictures the ones I used seemed to fit the best as they are right now, ie. the other parts are not in the picture or are cut off.

i don't understand what you did here. all i see is that you took a image capture and enlarged it (did a good job). is that what vector art is? if it is, then good job.

Vector art is great. Vector art is mathematical equations (point A to point B to point C is one color, etc.) whereas Raster art is pixels (little square boxes of colors set in rows). With vector art, you can increase the size of the image without losing picture quality (dependant on the quality of the original image).

Vector art is mostly used for things like billboards, posters and logos, so that they can be resized to whatever size is needed without losing image quality. (I hope no one minds me explaining about the differences between Vector and Raster...)

I'm guessing MatrixBANG used Adobe Streamline to convert the raster based screenshots into Vector art before increasing their size, worked on them in Adobe Illustrator and then back to Photoshop since they final result is a jpg image (raster based file).

You are right on one thing, it is vector art. It is not traced or run threw a filter though, it was done with comparitive drawing, I looked at the picture then redid it in Corel Draw. Added acouple of effects afterwards in Paint Shop Pro. It took about 8 hours to finalize both of them.

Resizing and and completely redrawing, thats the difference hehe and thanks for asking.

Aight I guess a really indepth explination of what I actually did is in order.
I do the sasuke one as an example...

first I took a screenshot 640x480. Then I took the screen and brightened it up so I could see the lines.
I then completely redrew the whole character only leaving the background and forground purple flames out. I did this step using Corel draw 8. You basically do the same thing that you would do if you were using autocad to draw up a technical drawing... only you can ad colors and fills and transparencies and stuff like that to the polygons. This step took me about 6 hours to get it perfect because I had to fix anatomic problems from the Screenshot. Then I go in to paint shop pro, make a background that is just purple flames, import that as a background for the Drawing of sasuke then draw up a logo. Export the picture to a 10000 width resolution, crop it for the right look, add flames to the forground and logo on a transparent layer. Then resize it to 1280x1024 loosing no resolution the picture is perfect. No jaged edges, no pixelation. 1 filter was ran on it after it was done, I Equalized it I believe to give it a colder look.

8 hours of work to get a picture perfect, a complete recreation of the animation cell that is actually a better quality then the origional.

That is what I did.

Bah been beta testing for a while... decided to do some quick photoshop and... it turned out crappy =/. I had some ideas but it didn't really come out the way I wanted it... so IMO this WP is kinda crappy. Most trouble was getting a background to fit the scene and after so many BG's I just gave up. Probably what I like most about this wallpaper is Naruto in the middle. Anyways enjoy the half-passioned WP I made...

Exactly, Dynasty Warriors. That character is part of the Shu kingdom in that game and the signature color of it is green. Having something else just kinda destroys that effect, IMO...

yeh the effect your sporting is pretty cool r3n, you might try working on your lettering with that type of bg though, the way youve done it this far is either this quasi meshing look, you either need to make it blend yet keep its distinction or develop a strong overlayed text look thatll bring it out yet blend in.

btw i kinda see what your doin to create that effect but im sure many others have no idea, if you feel up to it give us a tutorial or something, could be cool.

The Justice one is very "simple" but that's not a bad thing, it looks good anyway. Got nothing to complain about with the Fuji one. Nice use of leaves, good colors, acceptable cropping and the shadow fits it; color too. Perhaps make it so the text doesn't go outside the sig? Other than that, nice work.

PSJ, the Sabaku no Gaara one was great. PSJ one seems like it lacks something. I don't really like the structure of the sand team one. That's probably more of a personal preference than a way to say it's bad, though. Others probably like it. Good work overall.

lmao im sorry terra must of missed that lol. umm i dun use any special tricks lol just use render clouds abit and my own brushes and some other ppl made. i do the bg 1st then make a new layer with soft light then put my brushes on and just keep doing that till it looks alright lol. then i add the stock and mess around with the blending options or layer options to see what looks the best.

you got each face as a seperate layer right? so on the menu with all the layers there are to buttons called opacity and fill, select the layer and click on the opacity button and a bar with an arrow will show then just change it to what you like, this is of course photoshop if you use anything else i cant help you.

wow, i just noticed how differently sigs look from my laptop than from my pc

in fact, i can even see PSJ's sig and avatar now!!

anyway, yeah one thing i always look out for is how something looks at different brightness settings. There are lots of different monitors out there and many many different levels of brightness, contrast, and the like. What might look good on your monitor could look like crap on another's. It sucks, but thats just something us cgi people have to deal with
