Anyways, nice Scorpion sig. I reccomend putting a border around it and you could also crop most of that off; some from all directions; to make the image smaller. Just my criticism...

What would you suggest PSJ? I was thinking of adding in another picture, but that would seem repetitive to my other works. I'm going to add text at some point, but I don't want it to take up that much space. I like the size of the sig the way it is, so I don't want to crop anymore of it. So, I really don't know what else I could put in that spot. 'Tis why I still haven't finished it.

Very nice Bleach sig NM. Looks better than mine as well. But I aggree with PSJ that you need to work on the render. It seems too... dull... or something. I actually like the background though.

And klozz... that's a nice Sasuke sig you made as well. Unlike everyone else, I have seen that render before, and was also thinking of using it. I just never got around to it though...

@ Foo: There is a 1 pixel border. I tried to blend in the Stand(The thing behind him) But it didn't look to good.

@ Alhuin: Well for one thing your background looks to plain, use some brushes for starters. It needs some variation, it is just a dark purple mass as of now and for it to be interesting it need more work. Try out some diffrent brushing and other effects.

There is brushing in the background, actually. They aren't very distinct, but I used like three different brushes. But, I do see what you mean. I'll play around with it for awhile... but I'm planning on keeping the render and everything the same... so I hope at least that's good.

Well guys it appears that I have lost my passion for photoshop. It has been going strong for around 6 or so months now but I think I need some motivation/inspiration. And what better place to find it then where I started. So I need you guys to request sigs and such (wallpapers whatever) from me and tell me what you want on it. I made a decision to cut back on my photoshop time so I could catch up with all the anime I havent been watching. Ill still be making sigs every once in a while but not as often. Also I have a second child on the way this month so I'll have even less time for photoshop.

As for the starwars sig, thanks for all the comments, too late to change it because I made another sig with the same name then saved. oops.(can bee seen in the sig request thread) Oh well I could always remake it, the f24 doesnt fit in, if i remake it ill take it out.

Kage you need to go offer your services to gotwooters who have no sig or shitty sigs, just pm and ask if they would like a new one. Also you should make more tuts for everyone so we can critique thier work. Im going to be making anothe one as well as cleaning up the one I have posted, since I messed up a few things.

I've never posted here before, so I thought I'd start with a little preamble. The reason I am here is partially because of TwisT. Back at the beginning of the summer, he was looking for someone to make him a sig, and I jokingly volunteered to make him one in Paint, the only program I knew how to use at that point. He said yes, so when I realized he was serious, I warned him it would suck but went ahead and made him a sig anyways. You made have seen the sig, but to refresh your memories, it's this:

So, as you can see, it's really not that great. I promised TwisT that when I got around to learning photoshop, I'd make him a better one. So, the summer passed (filled with lots of playing Guild Wars, I have to admit) and when school started I cut myself off from Guild Wars. Hence, I needed a new procrastination activity and started learning photoshop cause I figured TwisT had suffered through using that awful sig for long enough.

So this past week I've been learning photoshop, trying not to get overwhelmed with the complexity of it. NarutoMaster in particular has been very helpful and patient in giving me tips and advice. So, without any further ado, I present my first photoshop sig, which will belong to TwisT if he likes it. I might make a couple more just to give him some choice, but here's what I've got at the moment. I appreciate any helpful tips you guys have for me, because I'd really like to improve.

GhostKaGe, you and me both. I learn something new every time I open PS. It's also hard cause I'm so busy that I only have time to play around with photoshop on weekends. But anyways, here's the newest one from me. I'm not completely happy with it, but NM says it's decent so I thought I'd put it up to see what you guys think (once again, huge thanks to NM for putting up with all my photoshop questions). This sig is like my nemesis. It's gone through so many different incarnations that I can't even keep track of all the layers. You might even see it back later in a different form, depending on what I decide to do with it.

I just use the defaults, text is pretty easy once you get the basic dynamics of it. I struggled with text for a while but now its pretty simple. Check out the sigs I made for terra and XYZ in the request section, I like that kind of text a lot.

Yea its pretty damn good, text is too big and bad font but that can be fixed. Although the render takes up almost every part of the sig, and from what I can see of the bg theres no depth and its just sorta smudged colors. Download some brushes and try that.

Great for your first try tho, I like the white outline you did. Originality is always a plus.

It looks pretty good to me PSJ! Maybe what Kage is aiming at is the scanlines? I think you should tone them down just a tad bit. But still, I think it looks fine either way man.

Finally made a new wallpaper. For this one, I just used photos + filters, thats it. Imo, I think it came out ok but I don't really think its my best. Basically, my aim with this wallpaper was to keep it in tune with the show. I'll make a v2 of it sometime when I get the chance. Any comments?

Those arent scanlines, it's an effect thingy i found, but i guess i could tone them done a bit.

The wall looks good except for the text, it doesn't really fit the rest of the sig and the Chidori side i a little to colorful to work with the other side. Maybe try to make them look a bit more similar.

Nice Phoenix, but may boob are too big

Your sig looks good. The only thing is try to use the color banence and create colors that go with the render. Also, try to experement with brushes. They have really good ones at deviantart (http://www.deviantart.com/)

I second AnimePunk. Hers are each the size of her head. That woman would not be able to stand. Regardless of the drawing though, I like your bg and the lighting on your render. They blend really well.

AnimePunk, that's not too bad for a second sig. I would recommend going through a few tutorials. That's what really helped me when I started using photoshop a couple months ago. The more you play around with it, the better you get. If you want, I could link you to some tutorials that I found particularly helpful. And I also highly recommend our gotwoot tutorials that are posted here in this forum.

That's great Pochii, but I think you'll need to resize it. The sig limits here are 400x80. If you like it at that size, defnitely keep the original, but you just won't be able to use it at this particular forum.
I like the brushing and the grungy look of the background. If you want to blend your render a bit better, I've recently come to like this technique: Duplicate your render, put it behind your original layer, go to filter and motion blur it, then move it a little to the right and mess with the blending modes (I like to use overlay). Repeat this moving the layer a little to the left. There are a lot of other ways to do it, some that might be better suited to this particular sig, but as I said, this is just one that I've come to like recently. Some of the others here might have some other tips.
I would also recommend adding a little colour to your background, to make it a little more interesting. Keep at it! You have a lot of potential.

Nice work Pochii. All that you need to do now is spend a little more time on cleaning up the images. Also, try
the tut video's Kage post in this (http://forums.gotwoot.net/messageview.cfm?catid=22&threadid=16053&enterthrea d=y) thread. Also, a little lighting goes a long way.

@Pochii: I got the text that way by using the free transform. Here's another place it cam out well for me

Try streching and rotating the text, and also try different fonts.

I like the Kon sig too, but also agree that it's a bit bright. Maybe try toning down Kon a little and adding some lighting so he doesn't look quite so 2-D. Just play around with the different lighting effects until you get something that looks nice.

Hey guys worked up this 1 while listening to some ambient I think i kinda went all out with the text just to see what i could do lol but yea i still need to work on the rendering way way more ^^ ENJOY!

Wow, that looks good, only the render is a little choppy. Try to zoom in and take out all that white. Also, try and learn the pen tool. It wooks better than the erase tool and gives a cleaner render. As for the "glow", yes, thats from lighting done to the render in order to make it look better. Kage made the tut for that at the bottom of this (http://forums.gotwoot.net/messageview.cfm?catid=22&threadid=16053&STARTPAGE= 1&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear) page. Its maked "Kage's Photomanip Tutorial"
