Clearly you didn't.
I wasn't going to comment earlier because I was never familiar with Marcy Playground past that one song, but having just come home from the gig I can say that that was one of the best shows I've seen in a while and their frontman is a legitimately creative and talented musician.

I wonder long long the boy will need to train himself to beat the new high score the gorilla no doubt set in whatever game was running on the DS.
What made me smile today was a PM on an audio equipment manufacturer's forum, giving me a serial to new software for my midi keyboard. The old software won't even install on Win 7, so it was no good. Fortunately this company (which isn't even the manufacturer of my keyboard but a firm that bought the original manufacturer some years ago) saw it fit to give me a license to the newer program they have licensed to be shipped with their instruments. It's always nice when you realise good customer support exists.

So this morning I got startled by a daddy longlegs (Harvestman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvestman)) at the bathroom sink. It was bobbing up and down drinking water from a stray droplet. I can honestly say that I never thought of these things as "vaguely cute" until I witnessed that behavior.
In any case, I didn't have anything around to put it outside, so I loosely twisted it up in a tissue and tossed it into my kitchen garbage. I assumed that I had killed it without it releasing its odor defenses too badly.
This evening as I'm cleaning up after dinner, what do I see crawling out of the garbage but the exact same daddy longlegs. I tossed it outside this time. I admired the thing's tenacity.

Oh weird, I have a similar story from last night.
I was typing up lesson plans when a massive roach scampered by on the desk. After screaming like a little girl, I grabbed the Raid and blasted the damn thing for a good 5 seconds. Only partially stunned by the poison, the roach dragged itself along the wall around the room as I continued to pepper it with blasts from the Raid can to no effect. The damn thing would just not die. It finally slowed to a crawl and disappeared under a pile of folded blankets. I assumed it had gone to die somewhere secluded and resigned to picking up the carcass later.
Several minutes later, it was crawling up my brother's leg on the other side of the room. Clearly it was out for revenge. It eventually disappeared under the couch. I know nothing of its condition. I fear for my safety.

LOL! Man, I think I almost died laughing at this xD. Crawled up your brother's leg huh? That's a bold ass roach. I used to have a roach phobia, and to a slightly lesser degree, a bug phobia. The phobia went away when I went on a weekend hike where one of the major, LONG ass trails was unpopular, and thus, not recently traveled. The overgrowth of long grass and shrubs covered the trail to the point you couldn't see it,and was mostly undisturbed. The place was FULL of bugs, all kinds. If you're hiking through the area at night, when you set up your tent you're liable to find bugs on your clothing that might not even have a taxonomic ID yet. I was scared the first five minutes on that trail. I was pissed for the hours remaining. I learned to appreciate this simple fact when it comes to bugs: "Me big, You small. You die."
Try it out xD.

Raid and similar roach killers are supposed to attack the bug's nervous system so it's amazing that the thing survived. Maybe it was a different roach?
You guys should try Bengal roach spray. That stuff is the best for killing pretty much anything with 6 legs.

My tactic with roaches is to spray them until they slow, then I put the bug spray can on top of them and see how it fares later.

I have only used Raid to reduce the populations of fruit flies, or whatever the tiny flies are that sometimes breed in flower pots. Other insects I kill with my trusty flyswatter. Not that there would be that many bugs wandering into my apartment. Just the occasional wasp and housefly. I'm not sure I've ever seen a spider here. I guess the eighth floor is a bit high for lots of bugs.
The wasp is actually the only insect I instinctively fear to a degree. Probably because I was stung by them a few times when I was a kid. So, very humanly I have ever since wanted to kill each and every wasp I see.

Roaches are so common here that I don't particularly mind them anymore. I used to kill them using a slipper (then wipe away their nasty remains with a tissue), but now even that is getting troublesome. There are thousands of them, so squishing a few won't make a difference anyway.
I hate it when they fly though. I remember a roach landing on my friends nape before. It was hilarious.

I remember seeing what I deemed a roach in a big industrial building years ago but otherwise I don't think I've ever seen one in Finland. I hear they have been slowly spreading here again, though, after near extinction after the WWII.

Oh oh I have the same traumatic childhood experience with wasps so I have an excessive fear of them as well. Now I leave them be until they menace me in any way, then they die.
The phobia is so strong, a few years ago as an adult I was working on my car in the garage and a wasp started flying towards me. I panicked and dropped my car off the jack and damaged the tire studs. $300 repair later, I swore to kill any wasp that ever got anywhere near me.

Oh yeah, flying roaches...When I was about 5 or 6, I had seen my first flying roach. I saw the hugest roach I'd see up to that point in my life crawling on a wall. Soon as I saw it, it stopped crawling and I froze in terror for about 10s. I turned around and was about to run in panic when I just a sharp pain on my earlobe as if someone flicked me with their fingers. Then I noticed the roach had zipped by me and landed on the opposite wall, towards the direction I wanted to run. I froze once again in horror as I rose my hand to my ear, to notice blood dripping from it.
Roaches, wherever they are, I will kill them. I will fight the good fight.

I lived in an apartment that I still distinctly remember. A juvy rodent climbed up my pillow as I was trying to sleep. I closed my eye and open it again, thinking it was nothing. Next I felt something on my arm then my stomach....yes, it was the rat. I totally went nuts and jump out of my bed. Naturally, I failed to pummel the tiny thing. So I set up a sticky trap pad in my walk in closet and next morning. That was the end of the line.

I had a similar incident. I was asleep on the train (in Japan) and I felt something on my lip. I rubbed it and killed whatever had been on me and went back to sleep. A few hours later I had a sore on my lip that looked really bad. It ruined my trip, as far as scoring any Japanese girls.

Aside from vermin-related anecdotes, I'm doing pretty well.
I just started teaching Spanish to 9th graders. Because I was hired 2 days before school started, I've been overwhelmed with preparation. Lesson plans, class handouts, administrative stuff, decorating my classroom, etc etc etc. I have so much to do it's ridiculous. My day starts at 5am and aside from a 30 minute break, I don't stop working until about midnight. I'm exhausted.
But it's a good kind of exhausted where I still have energy at 11pm at night, knowing I'm only going to get 5 hours of sleep. I'm content, if not a bit dragged out.

Earlier today I was standing in an elevator with a coworker, when he asked me what was on my shoulder. I looked to see some large insect chilling there, shook my sleeve, and it just fell to the ground dead. Apparently the giant bug landed on my shoulder and died there at some point during the day.

This cute girl is in 2 of my classes, one since we're both in the same major and the other completely random, which makes me think it's not a coincidence (in a karmic sense). I tried to chit chat with her the other day and today she might have caught me checking her out. Later today in another class we did introductions and she mentioned she's engaged to be married next year. I don't think it was a coincidence she decided to mention that. That made me smile.

Dude, i totally wished that was the case. Hell, i wouldn't mind working 100 hours a week if i can just sit around doing what i want most of the time.
The store grand opening was about 2 months ago (moved from a smaller location) so most of what i did was sort inventory and we had a shipment of 1500 books came in when i was working.
It's not hard work by any stretch. It was just boring, tedious and the constant being at work gets annoying after about a week.

I was driving home tonight and saw the Rottweilers who attacked my dog a few months ago wandering around the street. I wrestled with the idea of letting them run off and hopefully get run over for a while before I decided to let the owners know they had gotten out.
He was grateful that I told him and payed our dog's vet bill on the spot. He had originally refused to pay, and my mom was in the middle of taking him to court over it. I just saved everyone a lot of money and hassle.

I draw things on the board for my students. A couple of weeks ago I had a hamster up in one corner. All the kids really liked it but a few kept drawing injuries on him and erasing his ear/leg/etc. So every day I would draw him getting more and more beaten up. This week he's been laying in a hospital bed hooked up to a heart moniter.
Sadly, he died this morning :(

Did anyone see tonight's episode of the Simpsons? They had Katy Perry on in a skimpy outfit in a sort of "funk you" to Sesame Street for not airing her visit with Elmo on that show because people complained her outfit was too skimpy (it was a figure skating style outfit).
At the end of the show, Moe tries to kiss her but she's too tall, so he says he'll just kiss her belly button. She mentions that the place he's kissing isn't her belly button... (he's still too short so he's kissing her crotch).

my brother had an appendix surgery few months ago. for him it was almost two weeks in the hospital, followed by another two with a draining pipe in his body.
it gets better, but takes months for the scar to close down to something half normal
but, good to hear you're out of there.

Really well. I think we might be exclusive soon. Thanks for asking :)
I'm nervous as hell around her because it's been a while since I've been involved with anyone I was legitimately interested in dating more than just for the sake of it.
Also, I love the Canadian health care system. Love love love love. The hospital staff was so amazing and considerate, and all I have to pay for at the end of this is my medication (which my university will pay for through my uni health plan).
Stop being a drain on society and wasting taxpayer money! I bet your appendix burst after smoking too much pot, you liberal wingnut!

This has been such a shitty past few days, lowlighted by the tragedy in Japan. Today the UFC bought out it's main competitor Strikeforce which will result in less competition in the sport, fewer shows for fans, and fewer options for the fighters. So with all that mess going on, I have to smile and know life goes on.

One of my bests friends is from Korea, but has been living in the states for a few years since she got married, and we always get into interesting arguments about cultural differences. Yesterday, she was telling me about a woman that started a fight on the subway with someone that chastised her for eating spaghetti on the train. While I thought it was horrible that someone attacked someone else, she was aghast about the fact that the woman was eating spaghetti of all things. Lots of lulz ensued (from me). I do think its rude to eat on the train, but I don't think its a capital crime as she does. Her rage was pretty funny (sorry to say).

I never considered eating on public transport being rude, but more so that eating on transport creates a chance of soiling equipment (and people in close quarters) when accidents happen (as they do on moving transport).
Or perhaps ^ that's considered "rude". I'm not entirely sure.
Your friend would be totally shocked that I ate 3 cans of spaghetti for lunch today.

I bought 4 cans actually.
A 3-pack from a brand that I knew of, and another cheaper brand that I was going to try before I invest in 3 of them for lunch tomorrow.
The order I ate them in was: cheap-known-known.
I liked the cheaper one better thanks to its more intense flavour, more pasta and less-but-thicker sauce. The second one didn't taste as nice in comparison, and I was already getting full. It took a little effort to finish it. I didn't even need to eat the third one, but I did it anyway. The fullness/esistance gave way as I ate that, as if the protective mechanism from before subsided so as to make my life easier. It knew I wasn't going to stop.
The 4th was supposed to be saved as a snack after work as I waited for the bus, but I gave it to my brother instead as it's been a while since he's had one.

I don't know why you are trying to make yourself seem sad. I don't think she would care as long as you ate it away from people and in a static setting. Its really quite funny how worked up she gets. She is very authoritarian, even going so far as to say that she doesn't want people smoking near her, making noise, or looking at her a certain way. I am glad she is not a lawmaker or anything. She would totally enforce a police state.

Not seem sad, but it sounded like you were saying she finds eating pasta alright as long as it's "done right", so I just pointed out where it's not "right". I have lunch in the food courts of the shopping centre, so it's static, but hardly away from people. Not that I care (anymore) anyway. I've gotten over a good deal of that "self conscious" phase.
I get the smoking thing, though I personally don't really take that much effort to avoid second-hand smoke. Noise I get annoyed at but don't do anything about, and looks I can't do anything about anyway.

She is actually very interesting. I would not say she is the typical Korean, but there are a lot of things from her native culture that don't translate to the US that we debate the merits of. She is also very artistic as well. We've got this card at work that can be used with us, as well as any other store that's affiliated with this supermarket chain. It earns them reward points for every dollar spent over 30 (spending $32 in one transaction earns you 2 points etc). I only ask for the card when the transaction is over 30$. If they have it out already and give it to me (regardless of the price of the purchase) then it's quicker if I just scan it and pass it back to them. Sometimes they realise too late that we accept the card in the store, and try to dig it out - when that happens, I tell them that it doesn't matter if the purchase is under $30.
Today, I was elsewhere doing stock filling, and a lady went up to my colleague at the counter to check out. My colleague accepts her card, and she happily(?) says to her that "That guy wouldn't let me scan my card last time".
My colleague told me of this afterwards and I smiled at the customer's stubborn ignorance and perceived reading of the encounter.
Then there was another woman who tried to get the elevator to wait for her as she waited in line to be served. She was too late, however, and the elevator left without her. Then, when it was her turn to pay, she noticed the elevator come back and said "gee, that was quick!" (This place only has 3 levels.... it can only take so long.. >_<" ). So she tries to get us to hurry up, and then rushes out and yells at the guy to wait for her. (The elevator is glass and see-through. The inside is visible to us, but you have to walk around to the other side of the glass elevator pillar for the door). The Asian man inside couldn't hear her due to the distance between her and the door, so she starts tapping the glass with her keys. The man turns around confused. The woman keeps tapping and talking as she makes her way around to the elevator door while the man presses a button on the panel. She makes it in, and all was peaceful.
Little did she know that the man was in fact pressing the close button, having seen a crazy woman tapping, yapping and making her way around to him. Poor guy might have been scared or something, lol.
That put a little spice to my otherwise uneventful day.

Dogs use their olfactory sense much more than their eyes. Visibility in a river that deep is poor anyway so sight isn't much help when searching the bottom.

I tend to do that when I see something that I want, but is almost impossible to get.No...but I was really tempted. I'm really only using it on my mufflers and I want to make sure it's as good as I remember before committing to a bunch of tubes.
It reminds me of when Canadian Tire started carrying 303 Aerospace Protectant a few years ago. I thought it was pretty good that this awesome product was readily available. At that time, my bottle was still half full and I assumed it would remain available so I didn't think to buy any. I went to a location the other day and they didn't have any. My main worry was that without sight, can you reliably find your way back to the surface again? We've got balance sensors in our inner ears, and our body would naturally float given that we've got air in our lungs, but I have no idea how it'd go in practice.

The problem with that one is that it's the bus drivers who are judging, and they don't seem to be held accountable for the actions they have or will take. If the new dress code only defines baggy pants as "distasteful", the guy doesn't actually get judged before a panel. It's just the driver, and him.

It's going to help encourage me to go to sleep a lot earlier since it'll block off almost all distractions that will happen around ~7-9PM and cancel out the noise of these birds outside in the wee hours around ~3AM.
It's going to be great increasing my hours of sleep per day to be 9+ instead of my current average of 5-6.
Also, it'll help me with meditation.

I don't like numbing my senses, it's a potential danger not knowing what's in your surroundings because you're blind and deaf to the world, especially when you're also asleep. I think you should get a sound generator like this:
http://sleepzine.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/ecotones-duet-sleep-sound-machine-300x217.jpg
It produces different calming noises like white noise, ocean waves, rainfall, etc, to block out other sounds and help you concentrate or sleep.

I can't sleep with masks on because the sensation of something strapped on my face like that keeps me awake. Having a jumper draped over the top half of my face is no problem when required.
I have to block out the LED lights of my clock when I sleep because the lights are really distracting, and I also can't stand having an analogue clock in the room (as well as preferring to keep the door closed).
Back when I had really noisy computers, I had to sleep in a position where I lay on my right, propped my right arm vertically so that the elbow was touching the bed and the forearm was vertically up towards the sky, then had my left arm propped horizontally so that the elbow of my left arm was resting on the palm of my right, while the left palm rested on my ear - effectively dampening the noise. Earplugs feel weird (as in canalphones) because they are hard and provide pressure when I move (I almost always sleep on my side).
I guess my suburb is much better at night to sleep in (and to listen to music in) since the low population density means a low amount of noise.

I thought you were DBZ when I was reading that post which left me utterly confused. But now it makes sense. Good going.
Yesstday, I had a guy come in, and I asked "Hey, how are you going?" He ends up telling me that he's got cancer in his left lung, how his dad was a 5th Dan blackbelt, how he smashed morphine bottles in front of the nurses and asked if I wanted to go to this church down the road.
Today he came in and was 25 cents short of buying what he wanted. I chipped in 25c for him. He told me I was a nice guy, that he had cancer and was afraid of nothing, he'd kick down the doors of whoever was troubling me, and asked me to go to church. We shook hands, shook hands again, then bro-shook hands.
I'm smiling in confusion, and what I bought that day for 25c.

My first reaction was the same as DBZ's, but maybe that's what keeps people from trusting each other and forming lasting bonds. If he goes nuts and messes you up, and you survive it, consider it a lesson learned. But if it works out and he's a great guy who just needs a kind ear to vent his troubles to, you could get added to his will.

I have totally got this senpai/kohai relationship at my workplace. It'd pretty cool. :3
Oh, and I had another guy come in today (a regular) who apologised for what he said before (he told me that "No worries" sounded revolting to him - I think he means kinda cheezy and weird and unlikable), and I told him it's alright and that I'd try to avoid saying it when he's within earshot since it ticks him off.
Then he goes and tells me about astrology (which he studies) and about my time of birth to work out my Accendence(?). He tells me that when you meet someone you don't know, you first get to know their Assendence. Then when you know them a bit better, you get to know their Sun (the common astrology starsign - Capricorn for myself). And when you REALLY get to know them, you get to know their Moon.
I'm not a believer of this stuff really, but I don't mind people telling me my intrinsic qualities that I'm supposedly born with (and with this guy, I'd be interested in what he tells me). I'm just against horoscopes and predictions on how my next month/year/life is going to be, since it effects my perception of things, regardless of whether I believe them or not. I'll either try to conform to them, or try to do the opposite just to prove it wrong. The only way I'd completely disregard it will be to forget it. Given my recent trend though, forgetting seems to be my forte.
edit: I also had this guy come in today with a screenshot of a webpage that lets him get additional reward points with his card when he purchases XX amount from our store. I gave the page a read, and explained to him that he had to activate his card online for this "one-off" offer to work. He said "Then this is pointless isn't it?", and I told him that I can refund him, let him activate his offer online, then come back for the purchase again. He said something along the lines of "Fuck it", "I hate this store" etc, and pretty much carved his signature on the credit card receipt and threw it (and the pen) back at me. He then hung around the front of the store (and I wondered if he was trying to steal this bottle of red wine out of spite), but then later came back in. I asked him how I could help him, and he said "I changed my mind. Stuff it up your ass. I want a refund."
"You would like me to refund this, is that right sir?"
"Yeah. Stick it up your ass."
It took a while to do the manual refund on the products since I had to manually calculate all the discounts that he got from buying some stuff in bulk, and he complained along the lines of "I don't have time to be here all day" and "I hate this place".
"Manual refunding takes a little while sir. Please bear with me."
After that, I accidentally said "See you next time" out of habbit, to which he replied that he won't come back ever again. "Take care".
I smile at this weirdness.

A couple of weeks ago, I was at a "celebration" for the end of my fellowship. I had quite a lot to drink at the bars we went to, and then had a whole bottle of wine at a house party, and got to at least 2st base with a woman I should not have. I was worried about that, but my friend's brother told me something really funny: "If you drank a bottle of white wine, that erases a base". I am not sure what that meant, but it made me lol.

I bought a pack of 4-can Russian Standard vodka + citrus today, since it was marked down to $10 from the original $19. The deal made me smile, though not so much the drink.
It reminded me again why I don't like vodka. It tastes just like whatever the hell it's mixed with, so why don't I just drink that instead minus the vodka? Then I can have as much of it as I can without feeling sick.
Same deal with rum/bourbon/scotch + cola/soda mixes. I'd rather take the cola.

LOL, nice deal dude. I’m not a big fan of vodka either, though there's a Polish (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W%C3%B3dka_%C5%BBo%C5%82%C4%85dkowa_Gorzka) one that's actually quite tasty.
I can drink rum with soda but scotch I only drink mixed if it's a bad tasting one. If I need to get drunk fast, I add Sprite and lemonade syrup which kind of neutralizes the alcohol flavor and makes you drink it like water. But that's only in emergencies. :p
Bourbon I'm pretty inexperienced with. I only know of Four Roses and I thought Jack Daniels(?) to be bourbons.
Anyway, I'm a big fan of Famous Grouse blended scotch whiskey. It has a really nice flavor to it.

Call them by their surnames. It not only increases your professionalism, but it also allows better distinction between those names.
Alternatively, you can also give them nicknames based on what material possessions they own, how they act like, what subject they're good at, etc.. It's as simple as that.

I'm against making up crazy or misspelt names for children for the sake of being euneek unique, but if they've been given names already then just use them. Calling them by surname is weird in Australia anyway, since nobody does it. Nicknamesbased on surnames tend to fly around a bit, but that's about it.

It doesn't have to be Americanised, but a name that comes from the same cultural backgrounds as those that use the alphabet rather than a phonetic mashup that's supposedly sounds like your other name.

Man I've been searching and searching for this scene from Oliver Beene for years. It was a "Wonder Years" type of sitcom on FOX back in 2003-04 where a kid retells his life in the 60s. He meets a black kid at school and accidently hurts him, so his parents invite the kid's parents over for dinner and hilarity ensues. Besides lines like, "do we serve our food or their food", there are plenty of gems in this show.
The best line and what has been tickling my memory for years is when the Jewish dad asks the black dad (who works at the parks department) if he knows this other guy. The black dad gets mad and says "oh, just because we're both black, you think we know each other, is that how you think it is?!" To which the Jewish dad answers, "no... he also works at the parks department". To which the black dad sheepishly replies, "oh yeah, I know him... he's a good guy."

Went to a choir concert the other night at school and saw many of my students from last year singing.
I wake up at 3:00am every morning to go to the gym, and work well beyond the school day ends. Being at school at 8:00pm to see the concert meant going to bed an hour late for me - getting only 4 hours sleep instead of 5. The singing itself was tedious and amateurish but I felt what I assume only proud parents feel when I saw my old students on stage. While I was there, most of the parents around me talked loudly while the choir groups were singing. I could barely hear anything. I asked the parents next to me to quiet down during a song dedicated to 9/11 victims and received a ghetto-head-bob and eye-roll in return as they continued to talk loudly.
After the concert I shook hands and hugged my students from last year. One of them screamed "MISTER!!" like a kid on Christmas morning and squeezed me so hard I nearly got knocked over. That made it worth it.

I did a similar thing when I called AT&T about a potential fee before I signed up for their Uverse service. They ended up waiving the fee for 6 months, so I saved $60 from a 5 minute phone call. Previous to that, I called them to cancel internet service because I was unhappy with their service and ended up getting half-off monthly service for 6 months, a $105 savings.

Finding out that someone broke into my car while I was walking my dogs, who stole a total of 2.34$, a half pack of pack of menthol cigarettes, and a Dir En Grey CD I got from their Family Values tour with Korn. The part that made me smile was the police officer who told me the suspect dropped their wallet full of ID in my car while rummaging through my backseat; Karma for the win >:D

So did you get it all back?
Stupid people who steal with ID.. reminds me of the guys who broke into our shop at 3am to steal.. then reversed their car towards the front of the shop to make moving goods easier. Because of that, the camera got their registration plate (and the car wasn't stolen).

I just gave the student I mentioned in this post (http://forums.gotwoot.net/showthread.php/15990-What-made-you-smile-today?p=500039&viewfull=1#post500039) a "job" helping me organize my classroom, file papers/assignments, and do light grunt-work while I let her listen to music and chat to her about life while getting some work done after school myself.
She's really grateful but could totally make more money working part time for minimum wage. I can't pay her much but I really need the extra help.

I didn't get my stuff back unfortunately, but it wasn't a big loss on my part anyway I'm just glad I didn't leave my phone oranything in the car it could have been much worse. It just brightens my day to know how dumb some criminals are :)

She may not make as much as she would at another job, but atleast she got to choose her own boss, doesn't have to deal with "customers", and if she were to strive for a teaching/substitute position after post-secondary education it would look good mon her resume. Its a win-win for both of you in my opinion.

By coincidence, I got escorted home from lab for about 10 blocks by about 600 raging 99 percenters and 40 cops. I was all, 'inb4 tazed bro'.
No one got tazed.

Yeah, today was a big event for OWS. I'm kind of upset that I wasn't able to attend.

No, no.. (I lied).. it was actually quite boring. It just felt weird, even if she's a language teacher and I was tutoring physics and chemistry/maths. It just felt weird having a monetary relationship with a teacher.

I can't believe I misread 'son' as 'child.' I am not interested in knowing what the ellipsis in Buff's post meant anymore.
EDIT: posted this before I read the comment from Buff above.

Yes because being interested before was completely reasonable.

I just wanted to clarify. It has nothing to do with being reasonable (appropriate/right/whatever you wanna call it) or not.

So all of us have either done extra work for a language teacher or are language peoples employing students.

Since posting gay things became the new hippy/cool.
I smiled because we got a special Two For One deal today at the buffet dinner I went to. Furthermore, it was much improved compared to my previous trip a few years ago. Perhaps it's to attract customers in times of lower economic activity (and they'll try to make up for it with the casino), but I had a shit-ton of prawns, Moreton Bay Bugs, smoke salmon and oysters that I totally didn't expect to be there.
The fact that I managed to hit the right spot (full, but not I-don't-want-to-eat-for-a-week full) made it even better. I have a nasty habit of overeating when I go to rare and tasty occasions.

Ditto, I was able to get the main thing I wanted with a little bonus, so everything worked out great. Thank you, Amazon.

Apple's Australian site sent an email earlier in the week telling me there'll be Black Friday Specials. I was all excited thinking such a custom would come to Australia, and was hoping to pick up either a new smartphone or a laptop.
Turned out their "discounts" weren't even 10%, and no discounts on the iPhone 4S. I was a sad little buffalo that day, but Skyrim eased some of that.

Maybe they still won't think you are perpetually angry even if you didn't smile to them. At least they won't think you are a lecher.
I never smile to my neighbours. I only look at them with suspicion and greet them ambiguously.

I flat out ignore them, do the whole "gaze upon the horizon" thing when i walk pass them. They either think I'm rude or possibly autistic.
