@drims: use the printscreen key on your keyboard and then open a program like paint or any other graphics editing program, or even Microsoft word, and paste the image into a new document

@NarutoMaster: I don't use it myself but I think the program is called ObjectDock.. Edit: Yeah it's object dock. I downloaded it and must say its awesome. If you get it, get ObjectDock plus, its pretty customizable, and has more features than the free version.

My work machine runs a dell 2005fpw... 1680x1050 native. Home machine is a 2001fp, 1600x1200 native. Neither is terribly enviable, but it's certainly nice -- though in both places I'm finding more and more that I wish I had a second panel, even just a 1280x1024 one to spread out on.

The original picture in the background was taken with my powershot SD400 (2592x1944, 5megapixel)... the background is just a crop of it -- I use another crop of the same image for my home desktop ... but it's not very different, so I'm not going to spam up the thread posting it :).

My director at work just recently got a pair of Dell 2405fpw's. 1920x1200 each, for a net desktop resolution of 3840x1200. It's really quite a sight to see. If his video card didn't suck (it's pretty old -- he'll be upgrading the whole system later this year), you could pivot both monitors 90 degrees and almost get a full 5 megapixel image out of the resolution. That'd be pretty sweet.

This is how I do it. I have a custom menu with everything I need. I have made the wallpaper myself. :) I like symmetric wallpapers and they should be dark as well so you don't burn your eyes.

Aye. I know what you mean. It's a succesful and interesting pattern, even if it's quite simple. But simple things are pattern wise often the best. Good work. The colours and the contrast of the colours are just such that they might be too strong for my desktop.

Temporary Desktop, I've been absent the last week due.....to harddrive failure. I was cleaning out the house, had to move my computer, and when I booted her up.....My 160 gb harddrive was clicking!:)

Had to wait a week to get a 250 gb Sata 7200 rpm harddrive...

I forget what the name of the galaxy is, but that same pic came in the software with a telescope I bought last fall. The software is a map of the sky, and has tons of pics of galaxies, nebulae, planets, star clusters etc. It's a pretty cool piece of software, it's called Celestron's The Sky, just incase you might want to look for it, knowing you're into the space thing as well. I just wish they were alot more detailed, and higher res. as they would make some really awesome desktop WPs.

Even though it's not, it's still a coll image. I love Robotnik working on R.O.B. down in the right bottom corner. There's a million cool things to find in that picture; It's like a "Where's Waldo" for retro games. Even Mappy is there.

No, I wish I had more time to do some hiking but we were in Whistler for only a day...the only thing considerably close to doing something like that was the enclosed gondola takes you up about 3/4 of the way then it's like a 5-10 minute walk to the chairlifts that take you to the peak. It's a downhill walk to the chairlifts....the grade is like 60 degrees and covered with gravel. I almost bailed 5 times running down to make it because the chairlifts to the peak were closing in 6 minutes..the walk up the hill back to the enclosed gondolas was killer.
