I'll try to fix it later enough to post it as a render. I didn't really make it a proper render in the first place because I only needed it to look decent enough on windows blue background (which is basically the process I go through with all the images destined to serve in that role). And I doubt I can remove that effect totally without redrawing all the cell shading.

Edit: It's uploaded (http://forums.gotwoot.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=861&c=5). It's pretty rough, though. I needed to add stuff left and right (hair, tail, skirt) so that it wouldn't look bad in the middle of the desktop. I have to note I didn't invest amazing amounts of time into those supplements...

There are still only a handful of games that's fully playable. But you will still need to have a decent computer (dual core is a must to get playable speeds). Many of the games i've tried to run have worked but they either have crashes, fps drops or the sound malfunctioning

It's a picture viewer gadget that comes with the default installation of vista. And yup, it cycles through a pre-selected folder. There are also a few gadgets which show the album cover of the song you play, but I seldom listen to songs using the PC.

The feathers really remind me of the OP in ef - the latter tale, which is a H-game. This really does look like visual novel CG art.

Do you know the anime "Fate/Stay Night"? It's based on a "H-game"
I've played the game and it's 99% story (like in the anime) and 1% Hentai...
For example you get to see how Shirou "replenishes" Saber's mana-capacity (if you know what I mean :P) just before they fought Berserker together

You shouldn't think that all H-games are like "porn"..
however it's not like the "porn-games" do not exist either.

I haven't played other VN yet but I doubt that they are all like Fate/Stay Night (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fate/stay_night) ^^ (I heard that Tsukihime (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsukihime) is also good) .. really a great game btw, especially if you have the sound from the PS2 version. Even if you totally dislike or hate hentai... you can just skip that stuff

Aye. But unfortunately I'm only looking for pictures containing no nudity for desktop background purposes. Nude or pornographic images are always around plentifully, like rule 34 suggests.

The middle pic might do otherwise, and I have seen it before, but I'd prefer it to contain more of her. With my skills I'd likely be able to create the top part but I doubt enough of the lower part. The characters look kind of low quality in that picture (not the drawing style but the technical picture quality), although it might be the some sort of effect used on the pic as well. And in the end as much as I like Black Star's character, only girls are really welcome onto my desktop... Thanks for the offer, though.

The credit wouldn't really matter in any case since I always cut the character out of whatever background there might originally have, and place it on plain windows blue colour. If you have a look at the past screenshots I've posted here, it's always like that.

It replaced a black and white Suigintou background if that makes you feel better.

...and sadly, Takano fanart is not that plentiful. I'd have to make the background myself. The avatar to the left is cropped from a hentai cover. Much like Kraco, that's out of the question for a desktop.

What you get is different every time. So, I have no idea what bears your talking about. here is a tip for you though. Open a picture in a new tab if you don't want to lose your "progress" on the site. That way, you can grab the full picture and then continue where you left off rather than starting again and again. :P

They're called "Gadgets" which are pretty much the Sidebar Gadgets from Vista, but now they're no longer bound to the Sidebar. You could place them anywhere on the screen in Vista as well, but no matter what there was a dedicated strip of space on one edge of the screen for the Sidebar. Some of them are stock Microsoft Gadgets, some are third-party ones I found on the internet.

The notepad is...a notepad. If you're wondering what those lines of text are, they're my usernames for my stock trading accounts. I had no choice in the usernames, and it's too hard to memorize random numbers.

Can you try making the words stand out more? See how they look if they got the same amount of lighting as Rin.

Archer could fade in the BG no problem, but I believe the words should, and "are" as much in the foreground as Rin and and amulet are. The fact that it's more difficult to read contributes to the "so dark" feel that Krayz talked about.

Give it a go, even if it's to prove me wrong. :p

The original worked better with the silver XP theme.

Yours looks a lot better with the black Win7 tweak. (which is awesome btw ;))

I don't perceive the words as being too dark anymore, because there's no bright silver taskbar to steal the focus. With the focus issue out of the way, the lighting from Rin's gem is is brought out a lot more effectively, giving the picture more depth than the original.

@Penner - The smiley is for Yahoo messenger, and the mountain is my wallpaper changer software called Wallpaper Master. Cool Predator wall btw.

@Arch - I thought about doing that when I made the icons, but I reconsidered when I realized how bad it might make me feel every time it happens.
