Computer Freezes.
Yeah recently on my friends computer there has been a problem with viewing video files related to via avi.mpg, etc file extentions.
Heres the thing, the computer locks up after opening the video file, and the file just hangs, when you try to end the process of runing the video, the computer then locks up. The biggest question is, what the hell is causing it?
I have narrowed it down to atleast 4 possibilites. 1) Sound Drivers interfer with the file, we had a similar problem before with a pci slot soundcard but it has been removed and has not been used. Also it's also making me think why would the sound mess up now. 2) A videocard issue/conflict of something? 3) spyware/adware 4)virus' or malicious scrips? There probably more possibilities.
The video file runs and is playable in Safe mode.
Uninstalling Divx and WMP and reinstalling them didn't help either.
Drivers are upto date, direct x and gfx card. The problems happend im not sure when, but the we used to beable to run everything 100%.
Anyone have and idea of what the problem is? Much thanks.
