kisame and itachi are going to win their matches.....
not to say that anyone will die though, i doubt we'll see any deaths between these 2 matches, but we all know itachi can't lose, and i think kisame is due for some more recognition.

They don't have to win. They could be outmatched in a 4 vs 1 and just do enough to delay the Konoha shinobi for a while and then escape like they did the last time vs Jiraiya.

Obviously Itachi and Kisame aren't going to die since they have bigger roles in the story to be cut off now. Other than Sasuke's storyline with Itachi, they are still channeling that jutsu to extract the yoma. If they are killed then Ataksuki won't be able to complete the jutsu and it kills the dramatic race to save Gaara.

But it is likely that Kisame and Itachi will be defeated here. Remember, they are using Kage Bunshin to channel the jutsu. So as they are right now, they aren't nearly as strong as they would be under normal circumstances. So either they will be realize that they outmatched and then retreat, or it will turn out that Konoha is fighting Kage Bunshins and they will think they have killed them only to have Itachi's and Kisame's bodies go up in a puff of smoke.

you do realize, that the jutsu will take over 3 days, right?
if itachi and kisame are going to settle for just "delaying" the konoha, then they'll have to fight for several days

also, it would hurt itachi's character too much for him to lose to the opponents he's facing right now.
he made it distinctly clear that kakashi's sharingan is no match for his own....and im inclined to agree that kakashi will never lay a finger on itachi throughout this whole series. Naruto and Sakura mustve gotten stronger, but it'll still be BS for them to do anything to an akatsuki. The old woman.....well....we have no idea what she can do

Kisame and Itachi are not at full strength. They are using Kage Bunshin, so their chakra is already cut in half, plus they are using chakra to channel the extraction jutsu. It is extremely feasible for them to lose 4 vs 1 in their current state.

And I didn't mean that they would keep Konoha occupied for the duration of the jutsu. Akatsuki obviously thinks they can win, so their intention is not to merely delay. But they will succeed in delaying konoha for at least a short while for the sake of drama. If they stopped them for the full 3 days then that would mean Akatsuki succeeds in doing whatever it is they intend to do to Gaara, and its likely that Konoha will succeed in somehow rescueing him. (whether or not he will still have the Shukaku remains to be seen).

yeah that seems likely, but I have a feeling that Kishi will have Gaara loose his demon(but then again what do I know)

but about Itachi being there, its pretty obvious that they(team 7 +baka woman) will fight but knowing how most things are in this manga and knowing that everyone there has improved(but we dont know how much obviously)(dont know about the sand woman) Im going to make a semi-educated/ignorant guess that they will make Itachi retreat for some mystical reason(b/c having Itachi obliterate everyone and taking Naruto would just be stupid at this time)

The only way I can think Kakashi can counter Itachis sharingan is to look at his feet and predict his attacks by that, but I don't know if that counters mangekyou sharingan.

who says the only way to get to gaara would be through kisame and itachi? there are plenty of unexpected events that could occur between now and 3 days from now

I can accept the gentle fist fighting as legit, but chackra blasting from a distance? come on! they did it in DBZ and it sucked so much that they stopped it after two fights, so i really can't stand it...

It was just an open-palmed strike. What looked like chakra blasts were just illustrations to demonstrate the force behind the attack. I'm pretty sure he connected his hand.

Anyway, in this fight against Itachi, I'm guessing we'll see Naruto's "that jutsu" that Jiraiya told him not to use, which will probably allow for their escape after Itachi wipes the floor with them.

He did not connect with his hand. It is a new technique. He injected chakra from a distance. Which is great for Neji because they gives him some range now.

Who knows maybe Jiraya is close by doing some research... Btw the thing about Kisame summoning stuff. I believe Gai can summon turtles. Rebember when they were going to sign up for the chunnin exam and the Lee vs Sauske fight got stopped by a turtle.

Gai CAN infact summon turtles, but there are many techniques we see few of in naruto.
Like sasukes wire shizz.
Or the Amaterasu.
Probably a few more, that was just waiting to NEVER BE SHOWN AGIAN.
(note, this does not really apply to the amaterasu much, because it is still "unknown" to the charaters of the anime and will deffently be shown agian.)

itachi and kisame will lose... here anyway, well acctually itachi will kick ass unless naruto, sakura, kakashi AND old lady all use their secret jutsus, to stand a chance, so far nobody seems to have contridicted my thought of this being another "INVADE THE BASE" things...

I don't know, I think the Kishimoto is going to reserve those jutsus for later in the arc.

I think that it will be a 3-way fight, with sasuke and oro arriving to fight itachi and naruto+co. The fight begins, and naruto+co. will be able to escape in the middle of the fight while Itachi is preoccupied w/ oro and sasuke. at least thats what I think is gonna happen...and to me, it makes sense since kishimoto has to have sasuke show up sooner or later, and this timing is quite perfect for his entrance.

I don't see any chance of that happening simply because it changes the entire arc and current plotline. This arc is about Akatsuki's ambitions and currently a race to save Gaara. If Sasuke and Oro show up now, it would mean getting very far off track from the current plot.

I don't think we will be seeing Sasuke anytime soon except in some cameos or flashbacks.

well, there is a chance, since it will provide a distraction for naruto to get away and go for gaara. it will prob make more sense if kakashi reminded naruto of their main priority (we all know what naruto's reaction will be on seeing sasuke), and forces naruto to go get gaara with the old lady, while kakashi stays behind with sakura in the battle. I understand what your saying about this arc being akatsuki's, but this is only a theory which may or may not come true. we will see what happens.

also, Oro's appearance does have something to do with akatsuki, since he was previously a member of akatsuki. maybe he know's their plans...?

For reall, this was pretty lousy to push it this fast, only thing that will satisfy me now is if Kakashi and Sakura stays to fight It-chan
So Naruto and Chiyo can go on. And Sasuke doesn't show up cuz Orochimaru has already "eaten" him.
