    Naruto's licensed: Now shut up

Yes, I know the title is stupid and this topic could easily fit into the other one, but there are some important points that shouldn't be ignored.

It really isn't that big of a deal, you'll still be able to find a sub of Naruto if you look hard enough, and most groups have already said they're not stopping.

Here's an important point: The Naruto Manga has been licensed for some time. So, this tells us:

    1) It was gonna happen sometime, anyone who thinks otherwise is either 12 yrs old (and thus not jaded and full of cynical and pessimistic experience) or RETARDED.

    2) Manga readers never complained, and thus far, Viz hasn't really pressed the issue. ShoPro/Viz will be SO far behind in the series, that they may just ignore it, if not, LET IT GO, MOVE ON, and find a new series to watch. If you look around, there are a lot of them that are actually very good.

    3) Oh, in case you forgot, FANSUBBING IS TOLERATED BUT TECHNICALLY ILLEGAL. Think about THIS. The more you whine and make a huge issue of it, the more the companies here in America will get pissed off. (So far, they just ignore whiners) IF it gets to the point where they no longer tolerate it, either the American companies or the Japanese Studios will press the issue and put power behind their letters and eventually sue all fansub groups. This will cripple the fansubbing community. (They couldn't possibly kill it, but they could bring it to its knees.) So, SHUT THE F*** UP and don't ruin it for everyone who liked, didn't like, or occasionally liked Naruto or any other animated series.

I remain a fan of Naruto, but there's NOTHING you can do to stop what's happened. Push too far and ruin it for everyone else. It WILL be dubbed, It will air on CN, if you want the DVD's (buy a region free dvd player if you live in Europe), ShoPro/Viz doesn't give a s**t whether or not you like the dub or translation, and the most you can do to stop it is...oh wait, you CAN'T.

For those of us who don't really care about the whining and the counter-whining, we'd rather have u confined your post to the sole official Q&A thread that was provided. Else you're talking to everyone else BUT the naruto questioners. Keep the flamewar there please. Any points u have work better in the thread it belongs.

Actually I have to region free DVD players but I don't have Visa to order stuff off the internet and if I do, I borrow my mother's and that's only for special cases. As long as anime is being brought into Europe on a large scale, I'll have to stick to fansubs.

oh ryllharu i dont give a shit if you or viz want me to buy the fucking dvds i still wont i will stick to download fansubs as long as it is fansubbed, if ppl stop fansubbing then so be it but naruto isnt good enough to spend a fortune on 4 eps, i mean what does a dvd cost like 25 bucks or more? ill have to buy that then pay for shiping which will cost a good extra 10 bucks to get it to europe with a reliable firm so that makes it 35 bucks per dvd which is ridiculous since i got the eps at my comp and could just get the new ones once a week for 0 bucks.

I've been to Narutofan and thats where most of the whiners are; they even made a petition against shopro and as far as Aone goes everyone's kept their cool and waited patiently ... well atleast from the posts I've read most of the ppl anyways , so its all good. I'm angry about naruto becomming licensed because I was the one who wanted to license it and bring it to america after I got out of college. I know that the chances of that happening were slim to none but a guy can dream can't he?

Looks like those ambitions have been firmly squashed. Grrrr I'll have to make my own fortune some other way.

Yeah, most people in here are being cool about it, they realized it's not that big of a deal. I read the petition though, and I'm actually a little suprised that none of the whiners ended up here at all.
