holy crap, its been ages since i posted in the forums, but anywho saw this threat and thot id just post something, my fav movie has to be Harold and Kumar goes to white castle, this movie is freakin great never have i laughed so hard before, then after that would be without a paddle those are two of my fav movies
Yah Harold and Kumar is a kick ass movie, I love most is the American pie series, if it wasnt for Stifler the movie wouldve been gay because the series explains how americans really are.... horny
No one but the enemy will ever teach you how to destroy and conquer. Only the enemy shows you where you are weak. Only the enemy tells you when he is strong. And the rules of the game are what you can do to him and what you can stop him from doing to you. I am your enemy from now on. From now on, I am your teacher."

i forgot kill bill, resevoir dogs, training day, i love crime movies, epics, action, drama, comedy, i like everything, unlike music im open to anything with movies, even a chick flick here or there. favorite animated is the lion king, thats a great movie.
John Carpenter's The Thing is a remake of a scifi movie of the same name from the 1940's. I saw it a while ago. Shares the same basic plot but the 1940's version of the thing has aged terribly. Worst thing is the actual creature design which is basically a cross between frankenstein and a carrot.
The remake improved on the original greatly with much better creature effects and facinating exploration into paranoia and suspician. If you didn't like it before watch it again you might enjoy it better. If you haven't seen it watch it immedietly you will not be disappointed.

so, anyone seen the hitchhickers guide yet? the critics say it's not all its cracked up to be, but i want a normal persons opinion. is it something that stays true to the book, can it be enjoyed by someone who hasn't read teh book? is there any major change made from book to movie?
im going to see the movie regardless, but i dont wanna drag my friends along if they're not gonna enjoy it. not that thier enjoyment matters to me, but they'll yell at me afterwards
i heard its good and very close to the book but i havent seen it yet, would rather read the book first. im waiting for Kingdom of Heaven coming out this friday, i cant wait...
kingdom of heaven seems like it'll be one of those movies.....the crusades are a touch topic since it's a religiouos thing. it all depends on what angle the director decided to use when making it, whose point of view the movie is from.
unless they pulled it off REALLY nicely, there will undoubtedly be some angry ppl out there. it all depends on who the "evil badguys" are in the film, the muslims or the christians.
as far as an epic adventure movies goes though, i dont really have high hopes. its the same as king arthur, or alexander. very rarely do big battle flicks get the attention the deserve
its being directed by ridley scott, who directed gladiator. i doubt they will concentrate on the religious aspect of the crusades. the evil badguys will undoubtedly be the muslims of course, as they are today.
Harold and Kumar, Fifth Element, Starship Troopers, The Grudge, LOTR: trilogy, almost every Jackie Chan movie,Pirates of the Carribean.
Anime wise, the Samurai X movie series thingies, Akira,Ghost in the Shell.
I liked it alot, I have not read the books but it was very funny the whole way through. My friend that went with me had read the books and he liked it. Far as I can tell from his comments they cut some parts(this is expected) but it was well done.Originally posted by: Assassin

ridley scott is doing kingdom of heaven, so it should be good. hopefully he wont be afraid to touch on the needless massacre by the christians, regardless of what the inbreds in the deep south think.
saw hitchhikers guide last night. its pretty good, loads of cameos by british comedians, so all good. loads of the voices are done by well known brits, and the computer effects are superb. the plot lacked a bit, some things seemed kinda thrown in, and it felt a bit rushed over all. still, entertaining and made me chuckle a lot. marvin is quality tho
how anyone can think harold and kumar is funny, i dont know. its the worst humour ever, all that "in your face" american college humour. you'd need an IQ of a banana to think its witty in any way
i wouldent say it was all the christians fault, the persians and europeans have gone back and forth with each other for thousands of years.
Blasphemy! If you liked the American remake (if thats the one you're referring to) watch the Japanese versions...the remake somehow managed to botch nearly all the major scenes it tried to replicate (even though it was by the same director as the originals, and despite a much bigger budget), making it miles less scary...Originally posted by: Kezren
The Grudge.
These remakes of Asian horror are starting to get annoying, first Ring, then Ju-On (grudge), soon The Eye (not that thats especially good but still annoying) and Tale of Two Sisters...
Btw LobsterMagnet, re-watched The Thing and it was pretty cool this time around...
Coolest film I've seen this year is probably Team America or Haute Tention/Switchblade Romance - a well good horror film...
If any of you got freaked out by the hollywood version of "The Ring" try the original Japanese version. It's 100 times scarier.
