Yay! Good ep. Although, I found that Tashiro guy uber annoying. Wonder what's his beef. And that manager girl is annoying too. Especially when she puts down Fuji. Leave him alone!
Otherwise, I guess this ep confirmed for me that Goro's got really good control with his fastball now? Let's see some breaking ball development!
Do you think we'll see a love triangle in the near future? I can see Kaoru beginning to like Fuji. The problem will be if Goro can take his mind of baseball for a second and start feeling jelous. It would be nice to see that female pitcher that idolized Gibson when they played in the little leagues, the girl from the Yokohama team.

I always thought of him and Shimizu as a foregone conclusion but this is one prediction I wouldn't mind seeing wrong.
Unfortunately, Goro right now seems super focused on beating Kaido so if there's gonna be any love triangle, I think it'll all happen without him really noticing.
A love triangle would be a nice twist, but I really doubt jealousy would come from Goro. It would serve to make him more human though, instead of a baseball machine.
Why doesnt Shimizu just confess and get it over with? If she does it during a tough game, Goro might just absentmindedly say "yeah" because he doesnt want to be bothered.

Why would it make him more human if he got jealous or interested in Shimizu? To me it seems like Goro sees Shimizu as a very good friend and nothing more, it is possible for a guy to be friends with girls.
I'm sure there will come along a female that will spark Goro's interest.
There was one. That girl Ryoko during the little leagues that played for Yokohama Little. She hasn't been heard of since sadly.
It will make him more human because recently he hasnt been acting like one. Well, maybe an obsessed human, but my point is it would make him a more well rounded character with facets other than his love for baseball (like humans do).
Im rooting for Shimizu. The only reason Goro liked that other girl is because he thought that she was a good pitcher (and cute), which is probably no longer the case, considering Goro's level.

i really hope goro and shimizu get together already, or alteaslt to have some kind of development. so i can clear my mind of Sato and goro being gay lovers.. considering how they "love" each other at the later part of season 2. hehe
Yay! The teacher is pretty sneaky. They get a practice area AND do some basic training in the meantime. Can't wait for the next ep ^^
I'm pretty sure someone in particular sent this teacher over. Probably one of Goro's teachers and trainers from Kaido, or maybe Gibson? I don't know. It was a nice episode, but the second half was pretty slow and uneventful in my opinion... I guess it was needed to make the team get closer faster. Next episode will be cool, with Shigeno as their new coach or trainer.
Is the first season hosted anywhere? I've been wanting to watch this show for a while and don't want to start with season 2 =\

Good episode and all but, uh Goro's dad's attitude was so out of place and character. His appearance itself was a bit surprising.
This was a good ep. Who else to give Goro a little kick in the butt and tell him to come back to reality? Goro's "one-man anti-Kaido force" attitude was even annoying me. I don't really find his dad's attitude out of place. He's done it before back when Goro was a kid.
I was expecting more conflict in the Shigeno family... They should've had them really fighting it out, to the point where the dad even starts to question his methods.
True, I never liked his new dad. I also hated the fact that his now mother remarried him. She was all like "I'm lonely". Um, you were lonely most of your life until you met Goro's dad for a short while until he died. *shrug*
just finished season one and it was incredible, going to watch season 2 now =)
