ive had this problem quite a few times, cant really remember what i did to get around it sorry, id like to hear how to solve it too i suppose then
Use history brush. On the History panel there should be a box beside each action. Choose the action right above Extract and click the box. A little brush icon will appear in the box. Now select History Brush on the tools panel, it should be right under regular Brush. Select the extracted layer and brush away at the parts you want to restore.

Wait. You're saying the green was from the original image before extracting? If so then sorry I don't know how to fix that.
i get smiliar problems all the time its quite annoying and i dont know a good way to solve it either, would like to know tho....
If the source image has the green blurs then I don't think you can go back and fix it without doing it slowly by hand. You can hope that when you resize it for your project that it wont stick out.
