    CD burning

I have a prob... need your guys help. I downloaded a file with a size of 780MB, and i want to burn it in a cd that has a capacity of 700MB. How do i solve this prob? Is there a way to shrink the file smaller? so that it could fit in the 700MB size cd..

Depending what the file is, you might be able to zip it, but it's unlikely. It's too far over the 700.

i was going to suggest putting it into a zip or rar archive but as Raven said it's too far over 700MB.

edit: if the file is an iso that was formatted for cdr then it should burn with an image burning software without issues with space on the disc.

maybe you could compress all of the files in a zipped folder, or just get a bigger CD

first off what is the file, most files cant be zipped more then 10% but some files are not very well compressed. most likely you will need to find a file splitter prog, winrar has one built in and split it into 2.
another option is using an 800meg cd but they hard to find and they dont work everywhere.
