Will the time jump be that big? Didn't Jiraiya say that he would train naruto for the next 3 years or something? or that is the time when Oro can transfer to Sasuke?
I don't think that they will jump that far.

anyway.....i just thought of something....
I dunno if you guys noticed, but throughout the whole story from the zabuza arc to the betrayal arc, kakashi's role has constantly been going downhill. After being the main participant in the fight on the bridge, kakashi's next contribution was to pass on the chidori to sasuke, and then recently it was to do nothing but recover the unconscious naruto. He's been doing less and less for the series as it has been progressing, which led me to wonder why kishimoto would choose now to bring out the kakashi gaiden.
then i came to the conclusion, that it's probably because an additional element in this gaiden will be revealed that will deal with the present day story very soon. Or more specifically, we'll soon see a villian in this gaiden that will most likely live on (probably after killing rin) and quite possibly become that famed "akatsuki leader" everyone's been buggin about. What better way to give kakashi back his place in the limelight than to have an incredible enemy that he has already met in the past?

hey tahts quite a good theory man. and yea about the whole kakashi going downhill as the story is progressing it sucks becos the first impression kakashi gave us was "OMG HES SO INVINCIBLE" and stuff. i so want him to be stronger and kick some major ass again...i also have a feeling hes going to fight itachi again..i dunno
techniclly tears are fluid..... but oh well, i hope we can se fourth beat those stone ninjas in the next chap. would be so awesome [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] and you who posted those cosplay pics please stop with that just to disturbing. so i liked the way obito got killed kind of unpredictable and kakashi got a 2 dot sharingan, now this doesnt mean that he can get the mangekyou. so there is still an unknown uchiha out there and it isnt obito. * off to read the kakashi white chakra thread*
It's going to be a three year time jump. Jiraiya pledged to train naruto during that time period. Orchimaru can't get Sasuke's body until the three year time limit is up so what better way then to spend the time training Sasuke so his body and skills are more towards his liking (can you say snake summoning). Sakura has no excuse to do nothing but train since she's got alot of catching up to do. After Gaiden is over we'll probably get a big new chapter with a colored opening where we are introduced to the new Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto
I don't see a reason why Kishimoto needs to skip strait to the end of the three year training. It would be better to see Naruto, Sakura, and the other kids go on missions and progress over time. Also, it would drag out the series longer. I've said in the past that I think a time jump is a bit cliche' and I'm sticking to that.

Kakashi Gaiden is just fan service pure and simple. For years now naruto fan's have been dying for Kakashi's past and now were getting what we want. It would be nice if gaiden ended with a nice tie in to future naruto storylines but I don't think thats going to happen.
it might be a little cliche but i dont think he will jump strait to the end of those 3 years i hope we get some chapters with these 3 years summed up like 1 chapter per person and then an additional one for the other genin and the rest of the cast. you could bring in like kakashi and tsunade in the sakura chapter, maybe some kabuto in sasuke, only naruto and jiraiya in naruto chapter tho and in the genin chap like iruka, the konohamaru corps, kurenai and asuma.Originally posted by: samsonlonghair

i would rather it be dragged out longer, not just one chapter, i would like to see them train and grow, and naruto travelling the world.

Best chapter ever. I hope they show Kakashi adapting to the sharingan rather than auto badass with the eye after it just being put in. I agree with what Assertn Failure said about the whole Kakashi gaiden arc somehow being tied into the present story involving Kakashi but I just can't picture Kakashi fighting off of revenge. Maybe he'll be given a S class mission to infilltrait the Stone village. But man A BOULDER crushing Obito. I think I sat there for about 3min shocked at what I had just seen. I hope the fourth gets Obito from under the boulder to give him a proper buriual.

That the anime would simply progress without a big timejump.
Anime's getting pretty close to the manga.
nah the filler arc, made the anime go back to where it was, about half way.
but if you mean time wise, well wait till the anime gets to the end of the sasuke chase.
I agree with Masamune the Anime will take a little lee way with the time jump and try to force the gap a little bigger.
