I think the only thing Akamaru can do in human form is mimic Kiba movements. As far as one on one fight's go it'll be just like in the invasion where they had a perfect oppertunity of having Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura vs Temari, Kunkaro and Gaara. Instead it ended up being Temari staying behind to fight then her brother with Naruto fighting the boss Gaara. I see the same thing here, everytime they catch up one of the sound 4 will stay behind to buy some time to get Sasuke past the border and it'll all end with Naruto fighting the boss again.
well duh, thats always happens in situations like this(if you saw Tenchi in space(the last 3-4 eps)then you know what Im talking about). and since Naruto is the main character its has to be up against his rival(its the style of almost every fighting based anime)
