yeah dont forget, its unlikley that the sound los tno people in the war, if konoha lost a lot of people (and we saw how many die? almost none) then the sound woudl have too. they woudl be in the same position more than likley so EVEN IF they wernt the best in the village (wich i highley doubt) then i think they would be sent on missions abover there rank just as the konoha 5 are.
the sound village is hardly developed
i wouldnt be surprised if kabuto was the only jounin level ninja there

Sound is an independent village. They likely recruit missing nins and trators from other villages. I highly doubt that they'd spend a lot of time recruiting people who are not powerful.

like Y said, oro recruits traitor shinobi or special persons to his village, so its very unlikely he would choose some run of the mill ninja.
It doesnt really matter what rank the sound nin have.... it's not like the Sound Village cares about those ranks...
now how skillful they are... that's another thing.... a one on one fight with a jounin... they'll probably lose... so they should be a little bit under the jounin skill level...
And by skillful I mean their chances of winning a fight (curse lvl 2 included)
there is no way that they are strong at all, and itd be my guess that each of them are only a little bit stornger than each of the konoha 5, it took 4 of them with a lvl 2 curse seal to beat 2 very tired, injured jounins, and they were still exhausted after that.
We dunno the conditions of the 2 jounins before the fight. Yeah, they might have been tired before the fight, but only the chuunin in the group showed the tiredness. There were no signs that the Genma, Raidou, or Shizune were affected by the mission. They might have been, but might also not have.Originally posted by: basey_69

The sound 4 were really worn out because the seal drains a lot of energy. It's one of the consequences for using it. They might have not suffered any injuries for all we know.
