    it really depends on whether the question is "who was the strongest opponent that naruto has fought" or if its "who gave naruto the toughest battle"

    because naruto has beaten stronger opponents with less effort as he learns better jutsus.

    Obviously Kabuto. I mean the guy completely messed up Naruto's heart, and Naruto would have died had it not been for Tsunade. So yeah, the choice here is very obvious.

    nah i dont think naruto would've died kyubi wouldnt have let that happen i think naruto would've been in like a coma state for a lil while maybe

    I'm pretty sure he would have died. Kabuto damaged Naruto's heart BECAUSE that was how he converted chakra from Kyuubi. Without that connection, Naruto was on his own, hence the sequence of things getting dark for Kyuubi.

    However, any other injury short of getting his head chopped off could possibly be healed by Kyuubi.



    As for toughest battle, I don't think it's fair to say that Kabuto was the toughest because he almost killed Naruto. Come on, the only other person who was actually trying to kill him was Gaara. And even Gaara was playing around with him.

    Hmm ... thats a hard one. The one fight he always gets owned and would be embarrissing: Sakura-chan. I mean common, a dim wit half ass ninja with no skill owns him every time. You can't really say its Tsunade because of her insane strength IMHO. But ... for all around hardest fight for him to take its a tie: Nagi(forced him to use Kyuubi like it was said earlier) and Kakashi(1000 years of pain).

    I'd probably have to say Neiji. Then again, that's also my personal favorite fight, just because I hated Neiji for hurting Hinata-san. =P
