well, you're obviously thinking wrong cuz sasuke beat narut in a fight. why refuse to believe the truth and fact when it's right in front of you?

and yeah, i believe a genin has more power than however much kyubi naruto can release. we just saw a perfect example of it. but don't just call sasuke any genin, he's suppose to have more potential than itachi and we all know itachi can whoop anyone's ass.

Some of us would like to think that's true but that's definitely not the case in this chapter. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img] it just seems so inconsistent (when u think about what happened at the hospital) and illogical. I'm not sad that Naruto lost. I agree that it complicates things and sets up better storylines. Plus it was unpredictable; something we havent gotten in a while. Plus mad people thought Kakashi would get there in time and just swipe the two away like at the hospital. The fact that it didnt happen is fine. I just cant accept the validity of those sequence of actions when and after each attack made its contact. It's just not plausible.

Even if we were to say that the level 2 seal protected Sasuke, that piece of metal should have been obliterated.

And on a side note. Either one of two reasons could explain why Sasuke didnt kill Naruto when he was unconscious. One, he was too weak to do anything following the attacks making contact. Or two, he already thought Naruto to be dead. His only possible acceptance of defeat was Naruto hitting Sasuke's forehead protector.

there is just so much sasuke could have done in this fight that he have done in other fights, which he didnt.. for instance: why didnt he use rock lee speed? and few chapters ago he could predict narutos movements, why didnt he do that in the final chi vs rasen? he just attacked straight again like a fool (naruto style). sometimes chapters like this upsets me because its a life and death situation, and anyone would have used their best teqniques to the fullest 100%. naruto went 100% he has nothing more than rasengan and that kyubii chakra, and shadow rep. which he didnt use. but sasuke has so much more he could have used, example his brain! one chapter he is a genius and one chapter he is as dumb as naruto.. i dont get it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

uhmmmm did it ever occur to you that their chakra was almost completly drained at the end it's just like in the hokage vs oro fight, hokage using kage bunshin would be a waste of chakra same goes for naruto in this case, and sasuke was smart enough to shield himself with his wing and about the rock lee speed who says hew asn;t using rock lee speed? did you see that one page where naruto moved so fast he was like a blur, because sasuke had the same speed as lee he could keep up with the fast movements it's just like lee said you need speed when using the sharingan cuz you can see it but if you don't have the speed you'll be crushed like a bug so sasuke was using lee's speed all the time while naruto was using his kyuubi accelerated speed

just read it. amazing...a little disappointing...but i think it's for the best if it ended like this.

i stopped reading after ppl r like naruto is stronger and so on. even tho i thought naruto was stronger than sasuke, this chp just proved that wrong...i was disappointed i have to say. i was hoping for naruto to kick sasuke's ass, but it ended up to be the other way around.

and STILL!! kakashi didn't make it in time....

I think that people who say both didn't go all out are right, Rasengan should have taken Sasuke's head off, but Naruto veered it off. Chidori is an open fist attack, because that is how it cuts. Sasuke punched Naruto, so he didn't go all out either.

This chapter was the only way, and the best executed, way to end this arc. It redeemed the last couple months of this arc. Naruto had to lose and Sasuke couldn't "win" by killing Naruto.

After looking at it carefully a few times, this was the best chapter in the last two months.

Although the recent discussion is on Sasuke and Naruto and who won and stuffs..
but heck we all got to admit it's one hell of a chapter..

however instead of discussing on whether Sasuke or Naruto won.. i was wondering what do you guys think of how Kakashi would react.. or rather how would Kyubi react to naruto's outcome in this match.. I mean this fight is probably one of the first time that Kyubi actually even communicated with Naruto in battle besides the time when he summoned Gamabunta ( the giant frog )... but still what do you guys think the aftermath will be like?

coz i believe afterall the discussion over who owns who whether naruto > sasuke or sasuke < naruto is getting abit stale..

In the area of sheer power, Rasengan is way more powerful than Chidori. The techniques do not mix however. I will give the general idea as with what happened the first time. The Chidori is being the straight thrust that it is went directly into Rasengan, which is a swirling concentrated chakra. The lightning is Sasukes chakra. With Sasukes chakra he further compressed the Rasengan and interfered with the swirling to cause it to become a critical mass of chakra. The explosion the occured was actually the Rasengan blowing up in Narutos and Sasukes face.

What happened the next time was them not going for direct hits. Also with them holding back we dont know who wouldve really won. Naruto proved his point in scratching Sasukes forehead protecter, which he said he couldnt. Sasuke probably didnt feel as if he won the fight afterwards and let Naruto go. Then again it mightve just been good will. The vomiting up blood was probably the Rasengans doing, but who knows, it mightve been the cursed seals doing.

About the rasengan chidori argument. An example of each being used on a person. Chidori, pierced through Haku, pierced through Gaaras defense, pierced through Gaara. Conclusion? Chidori is ment to pierce.
However it didnt pierce through Naruto.
Rasengan, a chakra bullet that does NOT pierce but burn rips and basically blows up its target. Cuts holes through trees and rocks, BUT badly cuts and burns Kabuto. Conclusion? The Rasengan should not nick sasukes head band unless it was part of the wind.

However also notice that niether of their attackes were in there origional forms. Both other attacks cancelled each others out into pure chakra, a chakra that they seemed to share on page 2 (58). I think that both attacks were toned down by the others thus the reason why Naruto's torso is intack, and Sasuke still has a head.

Last note, what happened to Sasukes headband that feel of. Did he pick it up, or leave it?

I was refering to the move itself. Kakashi's chidori, while stronger still holds the pierceing priciple. And the chidori is the easier technique to master, which Sasuke has done.

Oh and yes, That even if the kunai connected first, the rasengan would still do more damage. Mostly becuase that a pointly object requires enterting the skin a considerible distance and pericing something vital to life, like, a brain, for instant death. Rasengan can still reach high damage with low surface area contact as shown when Naruto beat the crap out of that water tower.

just watch naruto first attempt the rasengan against kabuto for an example of my point. If the move doesnt reach its destination, then it doesnt matter how powerful the move is. And it doesnt take an equally powerful move to prevent it from reaching its destination

We've had no indication that resengan or chidori are techniques that you "get more powerful at". As far as can be told in this story, once you gain the ability to use them, it's like using a knife. You get better at how you cut with it, you get better with how fast you can pull it out, but the knife does not get any sharper with use.

I'm dying here waiting for the sub to come and explicate a little better. Next week's should be amazing also. Both of their attacks changed. It seems like their attacks bumped off each other and became something else, but I'm assuming that both of them ... couldn't kill each other. The nicked headband is a great homage to Itachi, their past fight where Sasuke said that Naruto couldn't land a punch so he wouldn't need a headband, and has some good resonance with Naruto's previous fight with Tsunade.

Gotta love the angst on this board. It's pretty comical.

ive read three different translations (of what little there is to translate) and sasuke couldnt peirce the kyuubi chakra. While his hand is striking naruto's body he says something like "this chakra!!! this is bad!!!" and then naruto makes contact with sasuke's forehead. sasuke didt pull his attack he tried but couldnt overpower the kyuubi. I think naruto definately did do exactly what he intended and that was to prove sasuke's comment about never damaging his forehead wrong. This is necessary because it never would have worked if sasuke was forced to come back because he still would desire power to defeat itachi. This way naruto makes a psychological impact on sasuke which over time has the potential to make him see his mistakes and come back.

Naruto didnt pass out from injury at all as sasuke never even made contact (just look at naruto's clothes) he just passed out because he had accomplished his objective and was exhausted from extinsive chakra use. He passed out for the same reason he did in the gaara fight. Also there is no way naruto passed out from sasuke's attack because they were both standing looking at each other after the explosion

So what your basically saying is that after Naruto made his point by scratching the forehead protecter, he "powered down" and then passed out, probably knowing that sasuke couldnt kill him(mostly b/c he couldnt and b/c of the injury from the lvl. 2 seal), so yes that did leave psychological impact on him and maybe a egotistical one as well(sasuke was boasting about how he would win w/out a scrath on his protector, and then what do you know he got one *ego lowered*)

i don't get some of you guys. you guys are still clinging on to the idea that naruto accomplished something or won the fight.

the 'you won't put a scratch on the forehead' phrase pretty much lost its meaning after sasuke got hit like 20 times. naruto already proved that he can put more than scratch on sasuke's forehead (not to be taken literally). the mark on the forehead protector looks more like a symbolism for sasuke turning into a missing nin just like his brother.

and naruto didn't accomplish any objective. his ONLY goal was to bring sasuke back, which he failed. also, as for the parts where it says "this chakra." and "this is bad!"... i don't think sasuke said both lines. i thought naruto was the one to say "this chakra." but then again, i guess it would make more sense for sasuke to say it.
