Download Firefox, and use that as your browser. Afterwards use something like Spybot or Adaware, which one you use is really just personal preference but both should be able to clean up your problem.

you wont need firefox if you're careful when using the internet. my suggestion is that you try other adware/spyware removers. there are a lot of ones you probably dont know about and are very good. ad-aware is jack shit, it wont get rid of the stuff you really need off your computer, trust me. if you decide to do what i suggested instead of downloading firefox i'll be glad to send you some links. i dont like firefox because it takes longer to load than i.e. and does not display some websites correctly, but its your decision.

While that is true, Firefox is about 1,000 times more secure than Internet Explorer. It also has a built in popup blocker, and works for multiple operating systems. The speed difference is so minimal between Internet Explorer and Firefox that it won't make a difference unless your using a rather old computer (500mhz, 64mb ram... something along those lines).

Anyway, Spybot and Adaware are the most popular scanners, you can also get a free virus scan from http://www.trendmicro.com/ and a trial to a trojan scanner at http://www.moosoft.com/ (The Cleaner)

    RE: page hijack

I had a similar problem a couple months back but more serious. I had my browser hijacked, and it leaded me to a website with virus and trojans, its, i had to do some registry clean up with the command regedit. Theres alot of sources that can cause this problem, via .exe file on start up, ect. But try the Spyware and Adware destroyers first. if a adware/spyware continues to exist, it might be the problem.
