    are you sure about that raven? i highly doubt sakura uses that to indicate she's above sasuke in rank.....

    not necessarily. it's can also be a very polite way of saying "san"...
    like, for example you're at a doctor's surgery, the secretary (whatever that lady's called) who's calling you in would be like "so-and-so-sama, you're next"
    EDIT: this is in the context of modern day thou. in the old days, sama meant someone of a higher social status.. like, a business tycoon, or royalty.

    "kun" ending in the world of work would most likely be used when a superior is talking to someone lower than them, doesn't really happen in any other case when it's higher rank people talking down. but most times it's like "chan" and is used for little kids or like, people you're really close to.. there's also the case of girlfriends calling their boyfriends with a "kun" ending... that's just like... kinda like giving your other half a nickname.

    Yeah like I said if you're children you can use it for boys of the same age. Or girls, but that's rare.
