I'm completely with Ark's latest image. Somebody on this forum once said (or quoted) that we should take "women" out of the "children and women first".

I had a rant about that either here or on IRC one time about how equal-opportunities at some point meant giving away dedicated tertiary education positions for one sex or the other instead of fostering equal competition, consideration.. you know.. opportunities.

It also entertained me that the poster in my old workplace advertised "Equal opportunities in the workforce" with a group that consisted 80% of women. As I said above, actual final numbers don't mean anything.. the laugh was directed at the mindset behind the direction of such a picture.

My mum spouts BS about men being expected to work harder than women, or pulling more income than women. Then again, she also said she'd disown me or find me hard (read: impossible) to accept if I was revealed to be gay, so what do you expect? >_>

That picture needs to be plastered over wikipedia. It's proven to be a good place for spreading public awareness.
