Nope, pizza delivery over here uses normal car in most cases. Don't assume that it is always the same in every country.

The pizza delivery cars I see in these parts are painted all over with the company brand and info. They aren't normal cars carrying some plastic thing on the roof. It must be some business philosophy difference between forcing workers to use their own car or to have a company car. Nevertheless I can't see how it would be financially viable with a car like that, just like Ani said. Maybe it's a special delivery to rich people only, like if Assertn orders a pizza, they will use an Aston Martin to bring it.
Edit: Although now that Xel said it, I might be only seeing the special cases and if others use normal cars, I would never even know it's a pizza delivery.
Why the fuck would you even use cars for pizza delivery when bikes are way more mobile? Only Amerifats order so much pizza that they would need that much space for delivery.
Indeed all pizza..heck most food deliveries here are done by bike/scooter, which are both substantially faster.

Lol I don't care if some bumfuck nowheresville doesn't put signs on their cars. You're the one getting all judgemental for some reason because someone posted a picture that you can't relate to.
@Archangel: Obviously, you are unfamiliar with the differences in transportation between cities. Even between cities in California, it's very different. San Fran has lots of public transportation, while in LA, everyone drives, lest they want to risk being run over on their bike or stuck next to a smelly homeless person on a bus (which is generally about 90% smelly homeless people). I know people who try to bike around here, and one guy wiped out pretty hard cause there aren't a lot of bike lanes and he got hit by a car. I got hit by a car myself when I tried riding a bike and some dumb broad was exiting a driveway. Typical European ignorance presumes driving a car = fat and lazy.

It's actually a really bad idea to label your car as a pizza delivery vehicle. Robbers know you have cash and free pizza. I had a friend who was a pizza delivery guy who got robbed while on a delivery. And he wasn't even driving an Aston Martin.
Like Assertn said, one of the hallmarks of American life are the vast distances between locations, particularly suburban homes and the retail/food districts. It would take 30+ minutes riding on very hilly terrain to deliver pizza to my house. So the last guy on your route would have to wait 2 hrs for his pizza. It's the reason the US is the biggest consumer of oil, we have the most cars because we have the most distance to go and mass transit is lacking. I think our person per square foot ratio is also one of the smallest in the 1st world.
For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?
How do you get robbed while on a delivery?

You park your car and walk to the door of the apartment you are delivering to, which can sometimes be a good 100 yards away. People see you and know you've got cash for change and from sales, and you're encumbered by the hot pizzas and probably don't know the area.

We only had one company car, and our old boss kept that when he sold the business to the current boss. The drivers use their own cars for deliveries. The current boss did make them carry the plastic advertisement box on their cars for a while, but I think he's stopped now. It screws up the paint job on the car.
And Cars >>> Bikes here.. so more often than not you'll find a delivery car vs a delivery bike.
None of our drivers have been robbed in at least 5 years.

the place i worked at didn't require me to have a sign on my car, but it was also a mom-and-pop shop.

I recall my friend said he and other drivers hated the sign and the potential danger of posting it on their delivery cars, but the bosses were hard-asses about it. It's been a long time since those days, but that sticks out in my mind.
