Good question. I would say ask the man himself.
But allow me to speculate if you will, Pikachu like all child actors have a dark side, underage drinking, drug abuse, sex with transgenders coupled low self-esteem; the list can go on, I am sure you know a few of them. And you know as time goes by most of them fall by the wayside and sink in to the dream of yesteryear using cheap booze and nyquil to numb their agony. Don't let the posh convertible car he drives or the wavy hair fool you, Assertn certainly sees his reflection in that image and distorted, aging Pikachu is his outlet. I hope that I answer your question.
p.s. or it could be that he has bad taste in avatar and this is humorous and disturbing. who knows what goes on in the mind of that troll.
