Hotsuma since you read the manga...
I doubt there will be another series since the way it finishes hints that there will not be another series... but is there enough content in the manga to do another series to finish up the story...?

No, I haven't read the manga, actually. (artwork kinda sucks) I heard that this segment in the anime is thrown into a part of the manga, where not much happens, and at the end of it, of course, Lucy is still alive. But that's only because it hasn't been changed around.Originally posted by: Budweineken

I will hold true to the belief that Lucy/Nyuu is alive and behind that door, because there's really nobody else that's a reasonable candidate. Heh, and a girl in love with invincible arms is something to be afraid of. Even if you have a battalion of soldiers at your side.
I like the way the anime ended. 9/10 people, I assume, will first think "Nyuu" at the door, because of all the symbols. I don't think a second series is necassaryat all, because the way it ended, was pretty satisfying.
SPOILERS!
yeapp... surely and obviously that was Lucy, who else would it be?!
but you know what i still dont know about, is whats gonna happen with the orginization that dealt wit the dilconus. did it get destroyed when it showed a scene with Lucy fighting again?
END
yeapppp that was a very nice ending to this series... couldnt have been better. this series will sure be under my favourite anime lists..
I really liked the ending, I wouldn't mind a second series.
whats this anime really about?
like what kinda time period and theme does it follow?
If I were to sum up the anime in one sentence, it would be that the series is basically about the relationship between Lucy (Elf girl who is seen as a threat to mankind) and Kouta, who lost his memory of everything that happened as a child.
This anime takes place in Japan, modern time, more or less.
The series is very violent, and contains some really morbid scenes. But past that, you'll see a really well throught up plot, with unforgettable characters and deep drama between each of them.

i woudl say by the way it ended it left it open for more eps really well, the director showing the he had horns, we assume lucy still being alive and such, im hopeing for more but if niot ill just read the manga, only 2 chapters in english now tho
Spoilers below
Actually, according to different people, it more or less ends identically. You don't know what happens to Lucy in the manga, either.
As for the anime (cause it's so different), I'll believe it is, indeed, Lucy behind the door.
what a crappy ending. but it wasn't that good of a show anyway. it started out cool but it dipped down towards the end.
Eh, that kind on ending dosn't go over well with the action buff's. I liked the ending cuz alot of the lose ends were taken care of. All of the characters grew and came to terms with all of their demons in one way or another. granted some of the stuff was left open which sucked some what but hey, you never get everything you want. So I'm happy with what I got.
I really enjoyed the ended. It's pretty much what I expected. A decent ending to a good anime is much better than a great ending to a bad anime
I have not seen this show, maybe later I'll watch it, but anyway does Elfen Lie?? ;p
*********POSSIBLE SPOILERS*********
That was a pretty good ending I thought, though it would have been nice to include a bit more action/fighting, I'm not that big a pure-action fan but it would have been nice if they had made time for a big epic battle for the last episode before the ending . As for what happens with the organisation it'd be pretty cool imo to go into that in a 2nd series, though I'm pretty content with what we got from the series so I wouldn't mind either way...
It was a really good ending. However, they did leave alot of unanswered stuff and characters alive that could be fodder for another season or side story. I really hope that there is a second season with Lucy in it.
**spoiler**
I think too that everything points to Nyuu/Lucy at the door (the happy puppy, sea shell, music playing, you guys saying that she was alive in the manga at this point, her kickass nature- humans can't kill her- her only rival was Mariko).
Why was Kouta's adult picture in that research notebook? (That's still bugging me to no end!)
Why is the population going to dramatically change in 5 years? (All born as diclonius.)
Where's the true male diclonius?
**end of spoiler**
So how do you find the English version of the manga?
the manga is being translated by 2 groupes got nyuu and someone else
anime fin hosts the torrents fr the got nyuu translations, they have 2 chapters out now,
It wouldn't make sense, in my opinion, that Nyuu is behind that door. Kouta really really wanted to stop her, he didn't want her to hurt anyone else, and in the end I think she understood that if she continued fighting that would only hurt Kouta more. The clock turning on I think is more of a symbol that time has moved on, from the past (the music box, the killing) to something better.Originally posted by: hikaru004

Why was Kouta in the notebook? Well students often have thier photo's taken for Professor reference. The lady was just looking through the student faculty list for a match.
Why is the population gonna change? Well apparently the virus that is creating the diclonius is spreading. Lucy was called the true femal diclonius because she could bear children, but she (for all we know) is not the original carrier of the virus, nor does it look like that top secret organization seem to have everything under control.
True male diclonius? Not sure what you mean by that, but both the Executive (can't remember his name) and his son were male diclonius. Maybe you're thinking that because there are females who can't reproduce, there are males who can't reproduce either? I wouldn't assume that they can't reproduce because in Episode 5, the scenes they show insinuate the professor raped lucy.
The only thing I wonder about is if the male diclonius can use vectors. Because the executive used a gun instead of vectors when he shot his son's assistant.

The general director/executive guy and his son were both fake diclonius. I'm pretty sure they injected themselves with the virus. They might not have vectors because they're fake and their horns don't even go through the skin (not that that is definitive proof or anything).
Well who knows if they are fake... maybe male are only carriers while the virus is really manifested in the female side... or some shit like that...

The clock turning could also represent a new Lucy/Nyuu, because her horns were destroyed, thus eliminating her thirst for blood.
It had a better ending then Ugly Beautiful World to me. I was kinda hoping she killed the military guy his sole purpose was to get owned over and over.
