    Codec pack/Media player

Anyone know where I can get a good codec pack? Also, I need a new "free" media player, I'm using Divx Player 2.5 right now.

Well, codec packs aren't really a good idea but I have one that is an exception. The Matroska Pack has all the essentials for anime playback (divx, xvid, ffdshow) and a lot more. Now, a good media player that is widely used is VLC Player. It has a lot of options and is a good player. Hope I could help.

Other recommendable players include (hint: google search strings) "Media Player Classic" "Zoomplayer" "bsplayer" "mplayer" (beta for windows).

Generally bad players (for one reason or another) include: Windows Media Player 8/9 (because they are ugly and clunky, though they'll work if your config is just right), Divx Player (any version, they're terrible).
