Thread: WMP is too slow!!!

WMP is too slow!!!

I have just downloaded the frist 10 episodes of Naruto, and the codecs necessary to play them back. My problem is that the image and the sound are separated, i.e. in a moment the movie stops behaving as a movie and starts to move square by square very slowly until only remains the sound. I would like to know if that is due to: a) I did not installed the software properly, or b) my computer is to slow (Pentium II with 64 MB RAM). (I think is b, but Iwould like to be sure).

Thanks a lot!!!

your computer is very likely the problem.

Try uninstalling your codecs and installing ffdshow alpha. Depending on what speed pentium 2, that might or might not make stuff watchable. I know my roommate used to watch anime on his old 450, but he had to stay in ffdshow-land or it would do exactly what you're talking about.

You might consider getting a new system sometime soon though -- they're not too terribly expensive these days for stuff that's massively better than what you have .

Well, I cannot buy anew computer because this is not mine, belongs to my job. so I cannot buy a new one, and I don't have computer at home (I am not in my country), so I have to live with that. When I get the money, I will but a new one, which wont't be very soon, but thanks for the advice.

i know your feelings dude im having trouble running it on a p3 550 with 256 ram. this system barely runs naruto and has slow downs on some parts. first off i suggest downloading bsplayer
bsplay86501.exe<--this is the best one for slow comps. next ffdshow is great for slow comps but has some compatibility issues with some eps, ie they may cause epilepsy due to constant flashing.
