I think the main problem is that the several years multiple hiatus happened during this arc. As far as HxH goes this arc is subpar when compares to the previous ones. the Yorkshin arc was amazing due to the spiders being likable characters and the overall mafia underworld setting. The Greed island introduced a magic element along with strategics battles that requires resources stocking. This arc has just been a tons of fight.
