Well either the mangaka has forgotten about it, and it wont come up again until 20 years later. Or he'll have it play into the current arc, and the baby will end up fighting the king somehow. or maybe the baby will absorb the king once netero kicks his ass
Hehe, my bet is he forgot about it. I only noticed it when I re-read the Chimera-Ant arc before the mangaka came back in October.

also, i've went through some older chapters, and it seems that Netro age is crap (it was said once that he has been head hunter for the past century, and is over 200 years old), but thier flying monster started set off back in 257. and after a bit more digging, check out 215 to see how awesome the writer is.

I think he just draws until he breakes the pencil, then he mourns over his loss for two years, until the royalties gather up and he can afford a new one.
that's why the art is so skimpy, he doesn't want to burden on his "one pencil", his precious.
