Maybe he originally planned her to be a Genjutsu user then changed his mind, and decided to focus on Sasuke and Naruto? All she's been is a crutch to the group. She always gets in trouble and one of the other two have to save her. Chouji would be a better choice than her.

Also after Ochi took both naruto and sasuke out she was their care-taker, so it seems feasbile..she needs something to do...still my least favorite character from the series though.

except it is MUCH more lilkley to happen than not. we can already see that naruto an jiraya are very similar people. they both like to play a lot and have carefree attitudes most of the time, now naruto is being trained wich further strenghtns the link. oro an sasuke are like each other they are one minded and determined to succed at there cause and they are linked via the cursed seal. tsuande an sakura are similar also because they both have short tempers and care about there looks and appearance.

If she was going to be a healer she would have started already. She's hopeless. With her skills, healing jutsus are out of the question.

I don't really see Sakura being a healer, she just seems useless..only one I can see maybe being a healer is Hinata, since she is always trying to give naruto medicine.
Thats not medicine, it was a barbituate. She obviously wants him and can't tell him so shes gonna do the funky-naughty to him after knocking him out with a sedative..

I don't see how people can compare Jiraiya's relationship with Naruto to Oro and Sasuke. Jiraiya wants to train Naruto as an apprentice, great, Jiraiya sees potential, and a little bit of himself in him. Oro wants Sasuke's body so he can change bodies when his current scary woman body is useless. That's not what I call apprenticeship. Furthermore, Tsunade hasn't even met Sakura. I for one can never imagine the two getting very close.
If you want to talk foreshadowing, compare Naruto to the fourth, Sasuke to Itachi, and Sakura to her non-existant parents who weren't even shown fighting (if they were) when Konoha was attacked. You can call that foreshadowing, you see everyone's parent, minus Sakura's, which has to mean something (i.e. she and her family have virutally nill talent as ninjas) From there you can kind of see people's potential's and maybe even their futures. Ino Chouji and Shika all have a pleasant future, Neji and Hinata are going to rock, but Sakura doesn't seem to have anytyhing.
Now don't get me wrong, I am one of the few who likes her character, and I would like to see her play a bigger role, I just don't think it's gonna happen like that.
Sakura dosn't really show anything that she is going to be a great ninja, besides the fact that she dosn't come from a known shinobi family (seems that way) and from the fact that she has no motivation/drive to become stronger. Even if she did decide so somewhere down the road, it's a bit late, i mean, look how long it takes people to learn/do stuff, it would take her a long time to do anything, even if she is supposedly good at molding chakra, that dosn't automatically mean she can learn/master everything quickly. Besides, she is obsessed with sasuke, so untill she gets over that, doubt she will get very strong/usefull.

Sakura's definitely not going to be a frontline Ninja fighter. Very definitely not. However I do believe that there are many other roles as a ninja than just fighting. What about being a academy school teacher? She's done a fine job teaching Konohamaru and his snotty friends a lesson or two.

I'm confused where everyone thinks that each team needs a healer?
At first I started to think that Sakura would be the strategist of the group and direct the actions of sasuke and naruto but now I've fully given up that idea. I could have seen Sakura as a Shikamaru but now its like they stopped on Sakura completely and just moved onto someone else.
Chouji being a healer feh, please no leave him as he is a brawler frong line fighter.
