    Any other hiphop from Nippon?
Sadly hip-hop is the "in" music genre in Japan right now. I was looking at live acts at indie underground clubs in Shibuya, Tokyo, and 75% of the acts were hip-hop. Hopefully it doesn't take quite as long to die in Japan as it did in the US.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

Hip Hop isn't dead, its just that a lot of people are falling off. Its in a transition phase, a lot of genres have gone through that.

EDIT: BTW, Don't shitpost in my thread Anim, I'm not gonna get a warning for you, so thats all I'm gonna say at this point.

It isn't dead, but it's dying, and painfully slowly I might add.

edit: actually my post is in response to Killa Eyez request for some Japanese hip-hop. I was just letting him know that hip-hop is big in Japan right now (sadly), so he should be able to find some worth listening to.

    Stay on topic!

Japanese hip-hoppers are especially annoying because they wear the clothes and listen to the music, but don't really know what hip-hop is about, unless that's really all there is to it. Seeing a 95 lb Japanese guy in XXL clothing that's 5 times his size with a ball cap turned to the side and unlaced shoes just pisses me off. I tried to like J-hiphop because the Japanese make everything better, and with their language they can make some cool rhymes, but the lyrics and meanings are all the same drivel as American hip-hop, just without the guns and Escalades and jewelry.

Meeh I don't listen to j -hiphop never tried it, but I am a huge hip hop fan and I think that hip hop isn't dead. There are still rappers who are droping hot shit.
BTW i heard couple of songs of the new common album and it is really dope. You should listen to it when you have the time.

I just listen to the beats anyho, cuz I don't understand any of it.
    Hip-Hop isn't all about MC-ing ya know. DJ-ing is a big factor 2.
If it sounds Hip-Hop to me it's all good! I give the Japanese slack anyho considering them having a totally diffrent culture... Just hope some of them "get" the Hip-Hop lifestyle and it's influences, so something good will come of it. I'll apreciate their effort anyway so if something actually is tight, I'll praise them and calling them people who really can do everything!

To get back @ some previous posts... M-flo has 3 or 4 "OK" beats in the whole 1.3 gb I downloaded from him... I like the song with Minmi, Lotta Love, though it ins't Hip-Hop. More like dance. So if anyone else has recomendations regarding Nippon Hip-Hop, please point me in some good directions please!!! I'll really appreciate it!

Hip-Hop ins't dead, there's only separation between the high-quality quantulum and the low-quality quantity (Wikipedia).

Hmm..what i meant is that, effectively, hip hop as a whole..almost no one remembers what it is When i say hip hop is dead, i mean the original meaning, the community, and the 4 elemenats. Like, if you ask old school b-boys, they'll say that hip-hop's bastard child has killed it (the bastard child being rapping). So in effect, hip hop's original form IS dead; its something a little different; like a zombie that thinks its still alive. Hmmm, its either that, or its just in a state of arrested development, but i would say that hip hop, (not just rap) is for the most part, promoted by purists for what it really is.

I see some of your points, but some of them I definitely don't agree with.

We'll, I'll admit it's hard finding good Hip-Hop music and people livin it, but there are a lot though... In Holland there's plenty... but here's diffrent from the USA indeed... Don't know why it has been hyped in the wrong direction... Why waste that feeling? It really makes ya wonder nowadays in this genre, what is music? Haha, I know I'm just blurring things out right now and don't make sense, but my minds thinking too fast and my hands can't keep up. But if anyone does, ya know what I'm sayin' son?

I'm not just a HipHop fanatic, I listen to all genres (almost). But HipHop is the one I prefer cause it involves a lot of messages and in some way, involves all the other genre's. To me it's like the ultimate genre (at the moment) and the best way to spread your message in the shortest way possible using music.

Hmm, if anything, I suggest those interested download a Dutch HipHop group and just listen to the beats and feel the differences between Dutch and English. I wanna post a link to a torrent but instead I'll give you a name to look into. They're called Opgezwolle (meaning swollen) and are from a town called Zwolle (hense the name). Type in the name in any of the most common torrent sites, dl and listen then get back at me for feedback and comments...

Most wouldnt, its a pretty extreme view. I guess the gist is that Hip-hop has been diluted, especially the rap component, and the other parts of it are just, like in the shadows, because its not really promoted to anyone so much.

Did you listened to Opgezwolle? You should if you didn't...
Just try it, can't hurt? Can it? Or try Pete Philly & Perquisite - Mind.State (album), it's in English. Just to check where the Dutch are...
