Any of you young ones heard of Eric B. and Rakim.
They are quite old school but they were pioneers during their time.
I got to listen to a greatest album of theirs and enjoyed it alot.

Rakim shoulda stuck with Dre, but I heard he left because Dre found the east coast rapper he was looking for in 50, was waiting to see something from him too...
good god, i seriously hated 50 Cent. I mean hated him with a passion. He shoulda just died when those people shot him.
Jay-Z's a pretty good rapper, but I wouldn't take it that far and call him the best. Copywrite and Warbux still dominate my list.
personally i like 50, definately one of the best albums in a while, and i lsiten to the best of 50 cent 2003 like everyday, bump heads, the realest, the realest killaz, love them songs.
time to revive the thread. has anyone got the jadakiss vs 50 cent mixtape, shit was hot. everyone dl the jesus walks remix if you havent, kanye west and mace, only 1 verse for each but its still hot.
Jay-Z is the worst rapper in history and Tupac Shakur is the greatest!
I listen to 2pac,Nas,Outkast,Gangstar,LL Cool J,Black eyed Peas, and everyone that makes a good song.
i listen to everyone in your list but gangstar, and Jay Z is a great rapper... has anyone got the new 2Pac cd, jus wondering if its worth buyin.
jay-z is my fave i just love the beats, and some times his verses make me think shit how the fuck can anyone come up with that, not as much a joe budden mind, but jay-z's beats are better. imo
jay-z spits out biggie rhymes that's how the fuck he can come up with that.Originally posted by: chambers

^^^roflmao that shit was funny hehehehe. so have u seen that new guy gorilla or some shit sounds and looks jus like biggie.
call me crazy if you want, but i kinda got sick of Tupac
i'm sure he's good and all, but the whole thug life thing never really appealed to me
lolz...<joke>It's funny about the internet these days. Rappers who use to be gangstas' and thugs dont want you to download their music because it's STEALING.
*cough*cough*cough* sorry, I was choking on irony there.</joke>
yeah a mate told me something 'bout this..I heard he's going with dre under the name S. Carter.
silentknight and i have a lot in common i agree about tupac, 50cent and copywrite
stfu tupac is the greatist that ever done it and will ever do it, same with biggie, tupac jus edges him out because he has more material to judge him on. i jus bought young buck for a dollar, and only one word can describe it: GARBAGE this album is garbage do not buy it, i think g-unit needs to get a dictionary and look up the word ORIGINALITY.
oh sorry, i forgot we're on the internet. when will they allow opinions?
Some News: Eminem's new solo studio album, Encore, comes out Novermber 17th.
OH shit, just saw this thread and read it all the way thru for a change (I was lookin for new shit to download). Guess i have to put my 2 cents in on the Tupac/Biggie thing: I gotta saw I'm a Biggie fan, but I think Tupac is alright (Anybody heard deadly combination w/ him, biggie and big L) I don't think he's the best, even if hes a legend. BUt as for the best rappers/groups (in my opinion)
Slick Rick
Outkast (all of their stuff is great, even though their older stuff (Stankonia and before) is the best
Digable Planets (REBIRTH OF SLICK!)
Tribe Called Quest (I can't believe nobody has said anything about them!)
The Roots
De La Soul
Beastie Boys
Talib Kweli, Mos Def
Jedi Mind Tricks
Big L (def one of the best ever: EBONICS)
DEAD PREZ (WTF is wrong with u guys?)
Anyway, it seems like everyone here thinks that once people get successful, they suck, and that all rap really has to be really deep to be good, but I think that even the most commercial shit can be good (even if it usually isnt) like some of those club bangaz are good songs u can listen to (ie Clipse)
Oh yeah, and Jay Z is good too (better than Nas) hahahaha
Edit: Does anybody know about any good Japanese rap? Like the beginning of Samurai Champloo (by the Nujabes)?
I agree. Kinda got sick of that thug life. But he's better then the averageOriginally posted by: SilentKnight
