I feel you. I be getting mad mixtapes for my cousin in France, cause over there, they don't even have the new ones, and they still cost around $15

just wondering what people think of AZ...
edit: any fav songs of his?
ehh
my personal favorites are Copywrite, Jakki Da Motamouth, Cage, Canibus, MHz, Weathermen, Immortal Technique, Atmosphere, Ikon The Verbal Hologram(Jedi Mind Tricks), Warbux, and Eminem
Copywrite is at the top of my list right now, if you haven't listened to his songs before I highly suggest you do. Copywrite is a battle emcee that has crazy wordplay and punchlines.
Recommended DL: Copywrite - Rocket Science
kudos. that's good music. i'm not so sure about the last one, but all the previous ones are fucking legends in my book. aaaand ikon switched to vinnie paz not like it matters, but this guy is the best "white" rapper ever.Originally posted by: SilentKnightCopywrite, Jakki Da Motamouth, Cage, Canibus, MHz, Weathermen, Immortal Technique, Atmosphere, Ikon The Verbal Hologram(Jedi Mind Tricks), Warbux, and Eminem
Nas was good, illmatic, arguably the best hip-hop record ever, but then all the rest of his cd's were either average or mediocre. I still can listen to Illmatic anytime though, still classic. Same with Mobb Deep, they still have some sick songs.Originally posted by: highbass
you know i can honestly say i am disgusted... you guys talking about rap and forgot one of the biggiest rap artist (in my opinion the best artist to ever live) the godfather.. NAS!... whent his guys first albumn came out.. pac was shitting his pants afraid of nas talent.. pac himself said that this guy is the real thing... i mean listen to nas - ny state of mind.. and then ny state of mind pt 2 (relates to his crew the firm).... he is most lyrically gifted person... the metaphors he uses cant compare to anyone not even pac... but then agaain you cant compare pac to nas because both are totally different... pac always stays on life stories.. and maintains a straight forward message... where as nas methaphorically speaks his mind... you guys also forgot about MOBB DEEP!... holy shit .. my favorite albumn of all time (next to stillmatic) has to be mura muzik by mobb deep.. fuckin awesome... that cd is pure classics... (o ya somone mentioned BIG L.. he fkn is awesome.. i call him and biggie the true devils son... [devil son.. on of big L's track])
Big L is the man though - "As beavis, I get nothing 'Butt' 'Head'" thats gotta be one of the all time classic punchlines
As for Az, i haven't herd much, i've flicked through one of his cd's, i can't remember the name, i wasn't impressed. But his verse on Life A Bitch is killer.
SilentKnight - w3rd, nice list. Copy is the man
ehhh....let me be more exact

EDIT: adding on Lous Logic, Aceyalone, Apathy, Camu Tao(decent), Kool G. Rap(i think that's his name), Mos Def
EDIT#2: GZA, Jurassic 5, Lyricology

Aesop Rock
Mos Def
Talib Kweli
Wu Tang
Kanye
Black Star
Nas
An old school tribute to Pete Rock and CL Smooth!
Most of you are probably too young to know them, but check out their works! I recommend it!
Also Public Enemy gets props too!

<joke>It's funny about the internet these days. Rappers who use to be gangstas' and thugs dont want you to download their music because it's STEALING.
*cough*cough*cough* sorry, I was choking on irony there.</joke>
