RE: HIP HOP!!!

mutata, hes the most overated rapper of all time, hes not the best at anything, no flow, no style, no interesting lyrics, no amazing delivery heck his tunes are not even that good. basically being shot was the best thing that EVER happend to rap. that sounds harsh but it propelled it into a nothe rlevel in terms of world regocnition.

P.S i DO NOT mean that him dying was a good thing, i mean it was a good thing for rap.

if those words can come out of your mouth, then you don't even know what rap is. the thing about 2pac that made him so popular and great was not his actual rapping ability (i can say that others are better), but the way he delivered his lyrics in such a powerful way. hearing you say this kind of stuff makes me think that the 2pac songs you've heard of are: changes, cali love, and thug mansion.

EDIT: chambers, tell me which albums you have. and nwa and 2pac were totally different generations man... nwa is the founder of gangster rap. you don't compare anyone with them. and no, he did not pretend to be a gangster... everyone else did and does, 2pac is as real as it gets.

yeah sure, ive got a few albums. the reason he was so good was because he pretended to be a gangster and did it with style. you compare him to a group like the NWA ( i know a bit unfair they were a group) and see who has the better or more hard hitting lyrics.

ive been listening to rap for a very VERY long time.

i think its cool to write a song about people who are obsessed with you and kill their girlfriends for you

yeah thats what i mean, the first tim ei heard the song i was like hey this is good stuff. but other than that its all the same.

HIP HOP!!!

I think he was being sarcastic. Stan is just as bad as any other Eminem song.

RE: HIP HOP!!!

i was turning it on its head. i never said it was cool. i said it was original. and it was. to be original it doesnt have to have an original story, just be told in an original way.

RE: HIP HOP!!!

i must agree that Pac is easily one of the greatist rappers of all time, he is my favorite, just his voice, his lyrics, his style. im one of those huge Pac fans that wish he wasnt dead, and im glad he keeps coming out with new albums, shit i still listen to all his old stuff. i heard he has 2 more cds coming out, then theyre releasing a huge box set of all his albums. i also cant go with all this shit about rappers now not having street cred, this is obviously not true except for ja rule and some others, but everyone i listen to isnt frontin. (Jay Z, DMX, Nas, K West, Pac, BIG, to name a few)

RE: HIP HOP!!!

well done for stating the incredibly obvious.....................

like i said being original in one aspect is enough to make something original.

HIP HOP!!!

how is a cover original?

(edit: please, if you're gonna tell me he's the best rapper of all time and call me a noob, save your fingers.)

RE: HIP HOP!!!

i think you need to re-read what i wrote, i actually said that "eminem is the single most wasted talent in the entire history of rap".
so you can take it from that i dont think hes some kind of god. what i was saying is that stan is probly the single original song and its his best by miles because the way he choses to deliver it is unique and original, its like a book with a twist in the end.

RE: HIP HOP!!!

i see. i guess if you look at it from that angle, it looks original. how i see it, is that he keeps bitching about being too famous all the time, and can't stop talking about it. it's either something concerning his fame, or mother. so the song didn't strike me as original. i do see your point.

why does it matter if someone else raps that with saying bitch, fuck, n-bomb, ho, and/or glock? does it make any less meaningful? absolutely not. as long as you get your message across, i'm ok with it.

Yeah I agree, but lately a lot of the hip hop songs have no meaning, just a bunch of swearing that rhythms.

this is a thread about hiphop. if you read what i write, you'd notice that i'm comparing the old music to the new one. can you point me to a post where i was acting like you are right now? if you haven't noticed 'imo' that i put in almost every post, it means 'in my opinion'. also, there was disclaimer about not having to read it, in my previous post (about 'my favorite rapper').

and to make it perfectly clear, i'm not starting anything. on discussion board, you discuss the topic. not just post 'yeah hiphop ruuullzzzz!!!'. i respect everyone's likings, and i merely state how >i feel< about the same rapper. you're not open for my opinion. i'd prefer if you try to avoid reading my posts, and vice versa, until you chill.

mut@t@ - very true. but, i think the quality of the message is also important. i mean, kids listen to this. isn't it better if they hear proper grammar and stuff, instead of slang and a curse word ever 3 seconds? i'm all for good messages, but 'P.I.M.P.' doesn't really carry one, does it?

and xollence - amen.
