Young Jeezy is definetley in the hard thug G-Unit kind of vein. His songs are not the best for dancing to but have some excellent lyrics and the flow is sweet as cinnamon.Originally posted by: Dick Starbuck

His main deal is that he is just another n*** hustling and shooting to make a living. His biggest statement is that he has actually done all the things he raps about and constantly disses the mainstream rappers for being posers, rapping about shit they've never done and don't have the balls to do, degrading rap by making it all about appearances and telling fake stories.
Its actually quite refreshing to have someone smash the outlandish rappers and obvious posers that have infilitrated the biz over the past couple years.
Humans are different from animals. We must die for a reason. Now is the time for us to regulate ourselves and reclaim our dignity. The one who holds endless potential and displays his strength and kindness to the world. Only mankind has God, a power that allows us to go above and beyond what we are now, a God that we call "possibility".
Man. I just got Late Registration yesterday. Album is crazy, and I think it's easily a Hip Hop classic. The beats are sick and the sound is totally different from most shit out right now. Track for track it's straight fire, the first song featuring the lead singer from Maroon 5 is surprisingly one of my favorite songs on the CD. The only skipables are the interludes. 5/5 easily.
Young Jeezy.....I'm actually loving his album, the production is top notch. I had actually heard of him before he blew, when I had no idea who he was, I know some people in the ATL that are on their grind, my cousin's baby's daddy is in BMF. Basically all the shit he is rapping about is the truth, straight up. He is a BMF member and also a Crip, already a millionaire from crack and other ventures before even rapping. He isn't glorifying what he did, just telling the story of what goes down in the hood everyday, which I like.
OK, for the people not living in the city and their best source of Hip Hop is MTV heres who not to sleep on.
SAIGON - Drops this month or next month, one of the most anticipated albums this year, and its his debut. He's done 8 years for shooting 3 people, so no wanksta shit from this dude. He is a what I call a gangsta-consicous rapper, 50 mixed with a little Common. Check out some of his mixtapes or download the tracks Hip Hop, or Color Purple (which actually brought the Bloodz and Crips together for a peace treaty in NY)
PAPOOSE - I have every mixtape, he is supposed to drop in the fall but I'm not sure how valid this is. Pick up some of his mixtapes, or download Return of the Living Dead, In the Bushes, Charades, or Chess.
LITTLE BROTHER - Drops this month, The Minstrel Show, which is supposed to be a Hip Hop classic. Received a 4.5 mics from the Source (changed to a 4 because of BS) and an XL from XXL (XXL said they coulden't give them a classic score when they will already be giving one to Kanye) The album is supposed to be BETTER than BE.
in case you didn't know....
Nas drops Nasdaq Dow Jones in October.
Dre drops Detox in November, real release date, not rumor.

That Kanye is a lil overrated IMO. It's a real solid release.Great production? Yes. One of the best of all time? Too early to say.
The production is pretty complex and "polished" but for the most part.. And one thing that's starting to annoy me about Kanye as an MC, is that his vocabulary is weak. I don't expect him to be a complex lyricist but I noticed several times on the album that he changed the pronunciation of words to make a rhyme. It sounds very stupid.
I prefer common's "Be" album over the new Kanye.
yeah i think i also prefer Be to kanyes album, i was pretty underwhelmed when i frist heard it. some songs for me are instant skips, while others i just play over and over.
SK where can you download mix tapes? maybe you cousl send me a msg reccomending some stuff to dl?
Kanye actually has a great vocabulary of the calibur of Nas. That's called slant rhyme Mr., and it's actually hard to do in a rap, thats one of the reasons Em is so respected, he can make anything rhyme.
If you want mixtapes I recommend just buying them from your local bootlegger since you can get them for $3 if you bring a broad. Or go to mixunit.com, mixtapeusa.com, which I use for track lists, or raphustle.com for all kinds of Hip Hop media. (Don't bother downloading Hip Hop Honeys, they don't show anything)
heres a list
Papoose - You can find every mixtape he has released on the net, the most recent and imo best being A Bootlegger's Nightmare.
Saigon - Just try to find the Best of Saigon (Kay Slay)
Dre - Find Pretox now before Detox drops if you haven't already! (unreleased Dre and Snoop verses from the chronic days)
B.I.G - Rap Phenomenon Pt. 1
2Pac - Rap Phenomenon Pt. 2
Jay Z - The We Gets Busy series features everything new from the ROC, most recent being 3.
Common - G.O.O.D Music Mixtape
50 & G-Unit - G-Unit Radio series or anything from Whoo Kid for Shady/Aftermath
Eminem - Invasion series, Armageddon, Shade 45 series, or recently the Anger Management 3 Official Mixtape
Nas - Nas vs. 50 Cent, supposed to be a mixtape before the album drops but haven't seen it.
Best way to get what's hot on the street is by picking up the regular releases from the best DJs, Kay Slay, Clue, Whoo Kid, Lenny, Cutmaster C, Green Lantern etc.

yeah kanye's music is definitely on and off. it's like one day he's a lyrical genius and the next day he loses it. i like his music, but his public image isn't that great. he keeps whining about something or another. most recently, it was about losing the best dressed contest that diddy held before the vmas.
in any case, anybody hear that new mixtape, ghost unit, by black wall street? that shit is sick. but then again im a g-unit hater, so i guess my opinion is a little biased.
His public image must not be too bad, he sold 1.7 million in presales and over 800,000 units first week of release. America actually likes cocky, honest guys like Kanye, look at Muhammad Ali the self proclaimed Greatest or Charles Barkely. Oh, and Kanye was dressed better than Snoop...
I haven't heard anything new from Game or his dickriders, until they're off G-Unit's nuts I'm not interested in giving them a listen.

G-Unit's name shouldn't even be mentioned in this thread.
I agree with wowza161 Kanye is on and off sometimes.
I gotta give it to Kanye though, he knows all about publicity stunts.
i haven't heard the new kanye cd but people are saying it's very good uhmmm, i liked be from common very cool only 1 song i would skip, kanye is a good produceren but i don't like him as a rapper. i have a couple of songs from little brother cool song very chill 9th wonder is a good produceren, he made a remix album of god son called god's stepson cool album but i liked the originol better and those anybody konws jean grae she has a couple of dope songs try an dload it
if you wanna hear a classic album listen to nas illmatic damn that cd is to dope, or try mobb deep- the infamous.

G-Unit isn't saying anything worth listening to. 50 Cent's about to get Ja Rule'd out the game, too.Originally posted by: SK

"The niggas only feel your shit just a lil' bit .. not a lot .."
I'm out here in Italy, so I have not had the chance to pick up any CDs or download anything, so I still have not gotten a hold of Kanye's album. I heard just a few tracks, and I was liking what I got to listen to. It's being backed by a lot of hype, but his productions normally on point, and his lyrical content is up there.
Street anthem right now is Sheek Louch's jumpoff -- "Kiss Your Ass Goodbye," with Sheek Louch, Jadakiss, Beanie Sigel, The Game and Fabolous. Jadakiss and Beanie on the same track! Hot Dylan Fiyah.
Also, Kanye w/ Nas - "We Major."
Can't leave out the human crack in the flesh, Juelz Santana with "There It Go."
EDIT: Corrected the spelling in Sheek's song title.
Yo Strider!
Italia? Dove sta a Italia? Io parlo la lingua e voglio andarci nell' semestre dopo questo. Studio le scienze politiche e la literatura italiana!
And to stay on rap: I could care less about G-Unit right now. I'm really anticipating Dre's new joint though, and getting by on the new Kanye (its not bad just not as good as College Dropout IMO) Young Jeezy, and Akon.

Sk: Thanks for the tips specialy the Nas song i love Nas most of all artist along with 2pac.
I found a new fav rapper that reminds me of the skills of 2pac and Nas. I knew of him before only by name but i didnt know he was this good.
I'm talking about Immortal Technique,he kills every rapper except Nas on lyrics, music etc.
I love his
The Point of No Return
The Poverty of Philosophy
Dancing with the devil
You never know
His revouliony vol 1 and 2 albums is one of the best ever!
Yea Immortal is good, check out his song Bin Laden.
Stider that's the Kiss Your Ass Goodbye remix by the way, for people looking for it, and all the tracks he mentioned are on the We Gets Busy Pt. 3 mixtape.

and yeah, nas is pretty hard for anyone to hate. i bet right now 50 is havin doubts about having ever dissed him o_0
edit: ah nm, big's case is still going on. im a dumbass.
Good looks on the correction, Sharingan.
Also, give Sheek's "Clickety Clank" a download. Going hard at the G-Unit Camp.
SK: I heard Bin laden last night its very good as most his songs
haha what a joke 50 dissing nas, doesnt he want to be crushed
i'd rather hear the diss by jadakiss, Checkmate. Sheek just isn't a very good lyricist. his flow is pretty good though. i think people just look down on sheek because he's the weakest in the camp, but the truth is that d-block is pretty strong anyways.Originally posted by: Strider

oh yeah, and game is slowly turning into a comedian. listen to his 300 bars and running, ghost unit intro, and the g-unot remix of just a lil bit.
"scott scorch!"
that shit cracks me up.
