switch in slim shady lp or marshal mathers, i like them all equally. the only one i dont like is encore, the first, i think 6 tracks are good, then it goes downhill.

i'm not sure im feeling eminem anymore, or Nas or jay z as much as i used to because they've been around for so long. Nas's first few albums were soo hot but he just doesnt sound like that anymore. same with eminem. they're still at the top of the game though, but i'm feeling other rappers so much more than them right now. kweli, canibus, immortal technique, jedi mind tricks...

Are you kidding me? Nas isn't hot anymore? God's Son isa great damn album! And, while I am the largest Eminem fan .. I was sorely disappointed with Encore. Surely, it has it's moments and lines, but it was nothing to compare with his previous albums (Slim Shady & Marshall Mathers topping the list). Jay-Z .. 'eh, I'm from New York. Born bred, and I don't even feel him as much as most. He's commercial. Very much so.

You've got taste, though. Immortal Technique .. a good friend out in Diego just put me on him, and I'm feelin' him. Sadly, it's hard to download too much things on government terminals .. so torrents are always not an option for me. Anyone know any other means of downloading? And, I ask because again .. it is not like I can run a search on these machines.

haha, well i meant that in the softest possible way. nas was and still is my favorite rapper but i just wasnt a fan of god son or the new one. even if the lyrics were hot, his new beats just dont move me as much. sorry.

about immortal technique i could send them to you over aim or something. anyone who wants to listen to technique gets an A in my book. you could also use ares or limewire to dl music

Alright, I'm with you on Street's Disciple (I think that was Nas' latest). I was not moved by it as much as Nas' God's Son .. or Jay-Z's Blueprint (classic). As for Immortal Technique, if you could e-mail me them to me or AIM 'em over, that'd be nice of you. PM me, for the info.

After I posted before, it brought me to the first page (I didn't read anything when I initially posted here) .. and I saw people discussing their favorite songs. My personal favorite track, that I can never get tired of hearing is .. Notorious B.I.G. - Notorious Thugz feat. Bone Thugz 'N Harmony. Damn song gives me chills to this day, when I hear it. Also, Jadakiss - We Gonna Make It, mainly for that sickeningly disgusting beat! DAMN!

EDIT: I was NOT moved by Nas' latest as much as God's Son. Sheesh, big mistake there.

hmm i thought street disciple first disk was pretty damn good. but none of nas's albums have compared to illmatic, which i still listen to. if you want immortal technique, i suggest buying his album if you can find it (maybe amazon?) i havent had a chance to buy revolution part 1 yet but you can download his songs using limewire. ive downloaded about 30, still havent found bin laden pt 2 though. on the jay-z thing, i dont go for this jay-z is commercial shit, i think its just jealousy. jay-z has had some great albums, blueprint, blueprint 2, and the black album were all great in my mind. i hate the way when a rapper gets out of the hood and gets signed people call him commercial.

nice list, couple i dont listen to, like jurrasic 5 and the roots, dont like their sound at all.

    Nice list, Dick.

Don't care too much for Jurassic 5, like Sharingan Kakashi .. but, that's probably all he and I can agree on if he thinks the Blueriprint 2 was a great album. (Do not get uptight or upset, it is said in a sarcastically jabbing manner.)

But, really .. C'mon, SK .. The Blueprint 2!? The first one, and the Black Album, surely. Not to mention Reasonable Doubt. All favorites in my book. But, the Blueprint 2!? .. You must have had nothing else to listen to over that summer and allowed it to grow on you. The second version of the Blueprint 2 that he put out (because he knew the first version was gar-bage!) was much better.

And, I like Reggae. But, this Reggaeton stuff .. Sometimes catchy, but highly annoying with the frustratingly repetitive beat. Every song, same beat and background.

i think thats a pretty good list too, half of them i dont listen too though. i've never been a big jay z fan, but i dont want to start any argument over him right now. About nas though, i really like illmatic, it was written, and the i am and the stillmatic albums. I think the roots are real hot though and i like masta ace but i wasnt really feeling his last album. almost bought it too, but i chose jean grae instead (what a great choice too).

anybody watching this subtle busta rhymes come back? he has a hot song called i'll hurt you, real nice flow on it.

hmm, ive never thought about that strider, youre right i did buy it over that summer couple years ago. lol i will have to wait a while since ive last heard it then listen to it again and see. disk 1 was very commerical, but disk 2 was great i thought.
ive been expecting the busta rhymes comeback for a while, since he signed with aftermath a couple years ago. about illmatic, i think it would be the greatist album ever...if it wasnt only 9 songs long. and i think nas' flow and lyrics are great, but the production is not perfect in my mind.
you know who i think is really overrated, rakim. got in an arguement with this kid natti the other day over that, i said 2pac was the greatist rapper ever, and he says rakim. ive listened to rakim's so called best album, paid in full, plenty of times but i dont think its the best shit ive ever heard.
EDIT: btw dark change your sig before the mods get pissed.

Jay-Z is not a good rapper. Does sell a lot of records? Yes. But is a good rapper? No.

He makes money cuz he always has party songs and that's what mainstream rap is all about nowadays.

I have 5 of his albums. You should actually try not assuming things.

It's not that I don't like Jay-Z, I like some of his songs. But some of his lyrics are bombared with unmatching syllables in the bars causing him to say one line with 7 words in it and then rap for 10 seconds spitting out a paragraph to make it rhyme.

    EDIT:
6 since I also have Hard Knock Life back at home.

hmm 6 albums of someone you think isnt a good rapper. strange. the reason he might not have perfect structure is because he doesnt write, he freestyles.

im not sure i'm a huge fan of rakim either, but i'll admit that i havent really heard a lot from him. and about jay z, it's hard to say that he isnt a good rapper because he does make some hot records. however, the only way i'd ever have 6 of his albums is they were all burned. you can correct me on this, but i would say that in his albums the songs that aren't party songs, more often than not have weaker beats. so that could lead to people saying the only good songs he makes are party songs.

You still don't get it. I have 6 of his albums; only 1 bought. Out of the 6 albums, I only consider no more than 15 of the songs to be good. And by good, I mean above mediocre. Nothing amazing.

There is a distinct difference between someone who isn't good at rapping and someone who can't make good music. Does Jay-Z make good music that I can enjoy? Yes. But just because he makes good music that doesn't mean he is a good rapper. His songs have good beats, which is what people hear first and it's what attracts people to certain songs. But the way he raps in some of his songs is terrible, and just to clarify, I'm not talking about his lyrics. And no, he doesn't record his freestyles and release them as tracks on his albums. That's retarded and it's a lie.
