Saw Dragonforce live on Tuesday night.

God I love Power Metal, so very very much. It's so epic, uplifting, emotional. I found the concert to be incredibly moving, laugh if you will. Also, entertaining. Extremely entertaining. My adrenaline was pumping like crazy.

I actually caught one of ZP's water bottles as he threw it into the crowd! Omg, what an honour! Too bad it's just a spring water bottle bought locally. But I have witnesses it was his, I tell you. WITNESSES!

Hard to pick a favorite since i listen to a lot of different stuff. Currently Avenged Sevenfold, Sevendust, Three Days Grace, and Hurt are getting a lot of play in my stereo though.

I'm listening to the song "Hope" by Finnish doom metallers Swallow the Sun. They're on tour with the godly Katatonia, coming nowhere near here of course.

I can't believe Sonata Arctica's new album Unia hasn't been mentioned yet. Yeah, it's a bit different but it's nevertheless quite the pleasurable experience once you've listened it in. I feel the album as whole is highly Queen inspired with My Dream's But A Drop Of Fuel For A Nightmare taking the cake as far as inspiration goes.

Personal favorites would be The Vice, Fly With The Black Swan and indeed the aforementioned My Dream's But A Drop Of Fuel For A Nightmare. All in all it's a slightly more demanding album but I feel it's easily one of their best.

    ... Oh, have a sample.
/ No, you warrant no villain's exposition from me.

You talk about trends but you're listening to Chevelle, Tool and Atreyu? NEWS FLASH: The "heavy stuff" has been around probably longer than you've been alive. Just tell it like it is: real metal is too hardcore for you.

    @Bucket: WORD UP!

Currently waiting for Nightwish's new album. Been looping the samples of their new songs a lot of times (available on their website). I'm almost feeling like a fanboy again (I was really really really addicted to them a few years ago)

The new single Eva is pretty good, their new singer Annete sounds beautiful. I would like to hear her vocal range on some of the tougher Nightwish songs though

Dammit Danzig is/are really really good. Been listening to them all week. I wish I could sing like him

I think that everybody has heard Mother. I had gotten the impression that they were a one hit wonder thing, but I couldn't have been more wrong. All the songs on the first album are as good as mother. Check it out, and especially End of time.

Also if you still haven't checked out The Sword DO IT! I saw the live a few months ago and they kicked massive amounts of ass. The same goes for Mastodon.

Go watch the opening sequence for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie. It starts with the usual animated popcorn, slurpee, and candy bar singing the jingle asking you to be courteous during the movie, then goes metal and kicks ass!!!

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

Right, with a little Elvis tone to it they are bad ass, listened to 777, How the Gods kills? Anyways "Mother" get a bit boring because of GTA San Andreas

Those are some of my favourites. Oddly enough I have played both GTA SA and probably played Mother in Guitar Hero over a hundred times and I still haven't gotten tired of it. It's easily on my all time top 100.

Whats wrong? No updates on this thread anymore, keep the metal alive guys, anyways I just got into Trivium. Yeah a bit late but they are pretty bad ass, they have a mixture of thrash and a little softcore to their vocals which I like. Songs I have listened to so far is the whole a Ascendancy album and The Crusade. I need some more recommendations, any new good bands?

Iron Maiden's first two albums, Killers and Iron Maiden, are really really good. The vocals are awesome. It's because of Dick-in-son's crap vocals I've never liked Maiden before.
