I'm going to Dragonforce saturday. I haven't heard any songs from the band, but my boyfriend says they're great, so I think that counts for something. Just hope I'm not wasting any money on it. Wacken was a waste of money as well.

It was nice to go to Wacken as in: "The Greatest Metal Fest In The World"
But that's just it, it's too big. Almost nothing of the atmosphere you have at a good concerts was there.

Listening a lot to Vanishing Point lately. Power/prog metal, very catchy stuff. I recommend all three of their albums, although Tangled in Dream is probably the best.

As a sidenote, I'm finally going to play live for the first time with my band... at november 3rd! Hell yeah! (this is a hint for you el_boss)

    Clutch - Blast Tyrant

This USA band has been playing together since the early 1990s, producing records at a rate of approximately one per year. Though each of Clutch's albums is marked by its own distinct and cohesive sound, the band's musical style may be said to have migrated from hardcore punk to hard rock and blues over the course of their career... They're coming to sweden!!! And they're playing with The Sword!!!!!!!!!!!

    Transmisson0 - Memory of a Dream

Incorporating heavy music with a soundscape influenced edge, transmission0 came out of the ashes of dutch hardcore band Reveal. With the break up of this band in 2001 guitarist Mischa van Rodijnen and bassplayer Dave van Beek decided it was time for a new chapter in their musical career. Being both big metalfans, but also fans of bands like Sonic youth and the Cure, they decided to try and link up these 2 styles of music in their songs... (read more)

The Sword - Age of Winter - I heard the track "Freya" in the game guitar hero and instantly fell in love with them. They have a very cool sound, it sounds almost as if they are some old prog band from the sixties. If you like Mastodon you will like The Sword.

Anyone list the band or actual classical band called "Apocalyptica" yet? They are pretty bad ass for a classical band because they turned most of Metallicas metal songs into classical music, I know it sounds kinda corny but hey just listen to them. The band mostly do metal/rock songs of artists like Slayer, Tool and Sepultura.

I'm with you.. though a lot of the participating bands have spoken on how badly they've been treated on that festival (The Project hate most memorable), as well as the fans.

Lacuna Coil - Comalies - I really like 'em. I haven't been a fan of female vocals in the past but LC pull it of excellently and it doesn't sound like some opera shit like it usually does when women+metal.

Comalies was good.. so was the band before they sold out to the U.S. mainstream, now their songs are totally watered down, repetitive drivel. And the male vocals are still pointless..

I like to stick with Nightwish, Within Temptation, Dark Moor and Carved in Stone for my female vocals. Tarja's gone from Nightwish though

I just started listening to Megadeth. I don't know why I have been avoiding them, maybe it was the name pr maybe that I had gotten the impression that they were similar to Metallica. Anyway I really like 'em. Been listening to Countdown to Extinction and Rust in Peace mostly, the new album United Abominations is ok.

Saw Dragonforce live on Tuesday night.

God I love Power Metal, so very very much. It's so epic, uplifting, emotional. I found the concert to be incredibly moving, laugh if you will. Also, entertaining. Extremely entertaining. My adrenaline was pumping like crazy.

I actually caught one of ZP's water bottles as he threw it into the crowd! Omg, what an honour! Too bad it's just a spring water bottle bought locally. But I have witnesses it was his, I tell you. WITNESSES!

Hard to pick a favorite since i listen to a lot of different stuff. Currently Avenged Sevenfold, Sevendust, Three Days Grace, and Hurt are getting a lot of play in my stereo though.
