I'll be sure to check it out. Haven't listened to any Rammstein lately...

<@Terra> he told me this, "man actually meeting terra is so fucking big", and he started crying. Then he bought me hot dogs
Hey guys, any of you ever heard of a band called Atrocity? Are they any good? It's the original band of the growling guy from Leaves Eyes. He's still with them. It's supposedly very heavy and technical. I'm considering buying some of their albums but I'd rather get some opinions first. I'm holding on to my cash rather tightly these days.

Dragonforce's new, being released in Februari 06 is avaible all over the net.
If you enjoy extremly fast power metal this is for you. On this release they have slowed down some parts of the songs which gives them a much heavier sound, they have also added techno beats here and their which fit in really well in my opinion, with this release they really grew as a band from "Sonic Firestorm" which isn't such a good album in my opinion, their debut was alot better.
Best song on thier new release which is titled "Inhuman Rampage" is track #8 which also is the last track, a beautiful ballad with a piano intro and a fantastic piano part in the middle of the song, if you have ever heard Starfire on their debut, this one is along those lines.
Go get this release right now.
While i'm at it i should recommend Loudness to. Japanese traditional heavy metal band, amazing guitar work above all, the singing is also very interesting done in english. Get Thunder in the East, by many called their best release ever.
Now all you metalheads on gotwoot you better get into Trad Heavy or else.
Okay, I'm going to try Dragonforce.
If it doesn't kick ass, I'm coming to your house and killing your goldfish.

Not coming to rape my goldfish or whatever it was you wanted to do if they sucked? Then you liked them eh?
Oh I forgot, I'll listen now, is Inhuman Rampage an alright album to judge from?

Yea, they changed their style slightly though, they used alot more keyboards and pace changes on Inhuman Rampage.
Just have to get in Tool here. Easily one of the best bands around. If you haven't heard them i suggest you get to it as soon as possible, i.e. right now. They've got such a huge range that it's quite hard to put them in a genre. The singer "Maynard James Keenan" also known from "A Perfect Circle" is in my opinion one of the best singers ever, you have to hear him to understand his incredible depth. I saw them live once on a festival in sweden called hultsfred and I almost wet my self from the shear awesomeness. Their best album so far I think is Aenima but if you are just starting to listen to them I suggest you begin with "La Te Ra Lus" which is their latest album. A Perfect Circle is also very good, they are a little softer and easier to listen to if you find that Tool kicks so much ass that you can't take it.
Tool is fucking incredible, I saw them in Little Rock. It was a spectacle.
The new album is coming out early next year!!!!!!!
PSJ.. They're pretty good, they remind me of Edguy and Symphony X.. I like those bands a bit more but I haven't heard enough Dragonforce to know.

Valley of the Damned is by far the best DF album, best songs, and at the time their music felt more fresh. Sure, the following 2 albums have been great, but it's still almost exactly the same formula. As for Tool I have Lateralus but didn't like it very much. :S Maybe I need to listen to it more.
Also, LMAO
Yes, you do need to listen to it more, much much more. I woundn't go as far as to say that Tool is for everyone, but most people start liking it after listening trough one record a couple of times. It's totally worth it. I have been listening to Lateralus on a regular basis since it was released. I just rotate it with the other records and A Perfect Circle, for neverending fun. This one of the big reasons why I almost never by any new records.Originally posted by: Terracosmo

If you like Led Zeppelin, Tool has made a cover of "No Quarter" on their live-album "Salival". It's one of the best covers ever made, and it's one of my favourite songs. I really suggest listening to this song, for it will blow your mind.

LOL!! Hey! Leave DT alone! I swear I'll have them come play a solo at your house too. At 30 minutes per solo per instrument, you'd better take heed.
If you're looking into Tool, I think a better introduction to tool would be the album Aenima. Many of the songs on that Album are indicative of what they've done in the past as well as of what they're likely to do in the future. Its also my favorite album from them. Lateralus is a rather difficult listen, but if you like aenima, Lateralus will most likely grow on you. If you don't, then you probably shouldn't bother.

yeah, Tool's great IMO. La Te Ra Lus is a great album, but I like AEnema better, though Originally posted by: el_boss

Anyway, for those who listen a bit more to gothic rock; I'd suggest Within Temptation - The Silent Force
and what's up with Nightwish, did they break the band up?

About Nightwish, Tarja (vocalist) got kicked out. People cry and believe that the band is done because she was the front figure. Nobody cares that Tuomas (keyboardist) is actually the one who writes the songs. People suck. Anyway, I think that a change of vocalists will prove very interesting for them.
yes, Silent Force. sorry, my bad. Originally posted by: Terracosmo

Only Tarja, ah, okay. I was kinda worried that they had totally stopped, guess not

Agreed, I think her voice had changed for the worse anyway. A new fresh voice might just revive my love for them. I just hope they won't end up with something like Miss K.Originally posted by: Terracosmo

And yeah, Tuomas is awesome.
/ No, you warrant no villain's exposition from me.
Cool, get their debut. They don't have the same amount of insane keyboards in the firts two. The newest release got some really weird keyboards at times, i like them but some people don't have the same easy going attitude with keyboards and shit.Originally posted by: The Heretic Azazel

Just picked up an album called "Vermin" by a band called "Old Man's Child" It sounds a lot like anorexia nervosa, but I can 'hear' it more easily. Apparently the guitarist and song writer in this band came from another one called Dimmu Borgir. I've heard anorexia nervosa being compared to them, so I know that they're supposedly one of the original bands to make what I guess is symphonic death metal.
That being said, this album is just great! I heard the song "enslaved and condemned" on music choice, and immediately went out to the virgin megastore to buy this album. I could not imagine disliking the album based on the strenght of that one song, and yet again i was right. Metal NEVER fails!! (I hope..) The music seems pretty standard stuff. Hard death metal riffs, complex arrangements, growls, blazing drums. So if you're looking for something innovative, I suppose this isn't the place to look. However, all that they do, they do spectacularly. So, if you don't mind adding another solid record to your collection, this is the record. Nothing new, but fucking awesome! Everyone should listen to this, so, go and listen to this!
