As for Rhapsody try Luca Turilli's solo project. I haven't heard it myself but Terra says it's as good as Rhapsody if not better. Terra usually are right about those things. He haven't disappointed me yet when giving recommendations.

King Fear or Death of the West by Babylon Whores.
If you're lucky to find anything, this band RULES.
Also you can't go wrong with Tool, I've been getting back into them. Prison Sex is awesome.

i keep wanting to recommend bands and stuff but theyre not metal, theyre rock. so dont really belong here, but i dont want to start a rock thread cos itll just get bombed with people recommending shit stuff in the singles chart.
but anyways yeah, metal's still good
avenged sevenfold
atreyu
bleeding through
darkest hour
devil driver
mudvayne
killswitch engage
slipknot
element eighty
deftones
gwar
shadows fall
alexis on fire
fear before the march of flames
that kind of stuff
i like element eighty thrown in there.... makes me giggle. Nice list tho.
Metal is the way to go! I myself listen alot to symphonic metal i.e Children of Bodom. Bands such Luca Turilli and Rhapsody are great too. I kinda like System of a Down too, they're kickass live =P
So I heard the new Children of Bodom album or B-side or something will feature a cover of Poison's "Talk Dirty to Me."
Alexi and company are nuts!

@Paithan: "symphonic metal i.e Children of Bodom"
Since when is CoB symphonic?
@Azazel: Yeah their choices of covers are insane. I hope it'll be a good one, hell, it probably will. Might get to hear some more of Alexi's clean voice.
Ok, KitKat once again needs some advice from the gotwoot metal gurus. I have a couple of songs on my playlist by a band called Masterplan. I'm not quite sure where I got these songs actually, but nonetheless they are there, and I enjoy both of them. Not like OMG I LOVE THIS SONG, but they're good tunes. So, for anyone who happens to be familiar with this band, is it worth my while to download a whole album? Do they have good variety in their range of styles? How would you evaluate them overall?
I got one of their albums(don't know if they have made more not that into them). I'll give it a listen and then edit with a judgement.
EDIT: Okey they have made 2 albums their self titled debut and 2005 release Aeronautics, currently listening to Maserplan, what was the names of the songs you got?
The two songs I have are 'Bleeding Eyes' and 'Enlighten Me'
You should download the rest of the album. Both songs are on "masterplan", try that album and then proceed to their 2005 release. The album is very easy to listen to and got some nice tunes but i wouldn't say that it got a big variety of songs but as i said go get it.
Masterplan is okay. It's pretty run of the mill power metal, but the voice of Jorn (great vocalist) lifts them higher.
I'm not that into them though, but that's how I'd evaluate them.
I agree the vocalist really does much work. I like the drumming to but they lack a bit of variety in my opinion.
You guys should find some Carved in Stone, totally beautiful music and has this midieval feel that just makes you wanna grab a sword and shield and go save Zelda.

I read up about the band (here, if anyone cares) and it seems damn good. It's all made by a woman too. That's rather rare. I'll definitely check the album out. Too bad she's only released one.
Actually I am listening to it right now, very good. Could you give me a link to where I could either buy or download her music?Originally posted by: The Heretic Azazel

I think Carved in Stone have released at least 3 albums.
I'm getting some on soulseek but it might be a while Jon.. you could try that or I'll send it to you and Terra when I'm done downloading this.
I lost their main album for some reason, should definitely check out track 1 from that, Boten Asgards.

Really? Cuz according to that site, which has always been correct for me at least, there's only one album out. Or yeah, a demo too.

Lol, so cool.
From the site I saw, which is on my comp which I am not at right now, there was only two. I will post the link whenever I get back on that computer.
