Rhapsody and brutal shouldn't be in the same sentence .

Since Iron Maiden are playing in Sweden tonight i thought i would recommend some maiden, hell download their entire discography. If you by any chance haven't heard Maiden start with the album "The number of the beast" really captures what Maiden is about, a great introduction album. I really doubt anyone haven't heard them tho. 2 of their most famous songs are on that album "666 the number of the beast" and "Run to the hills".

I would have gone to the gig tonight but i'm stuck here being sick and all so i can't go Anyone going to see Maiden this year or already have?

The hilarious part of tonight's Maiden gig is the following:

PSJ above wants to go, but can't.
Myself, I have a Maiden ticket but I'm not going. Why? Well... long story.
Basically I've spent 40 bucks on a ticket I ain't gonna use, while somewhere in our country there are people who could kill for a ticket.

Life is unfair!

To fucking unfair. At least i managed to sell my ticket. But i have pretty much accepted my situation right now, gonna see the gig on TV instead. I'm still trying to figure out why i got struck with sudden dicease right now as it fucked up my work, a holiday and the Maiden gig.

Got a call from a friend who are gonna see the gig today, he stands in line right now and said to me over the phone "I'll call when they play Fear of the dark or Wickerman", both songs they won't play. I'm not fucking gonna take any calls while im watching the gig on TV.

Saw a documentary yesterday about Maiden and guess what it made me even more interested in the gig. But what the fuck the guys are still young, around 45 or so and they like the swedish fans so they'll be here again in a couple of years, im fucking gonna buy every ticket next time and have them all to myself.

UP THE IRONS!

PSJ, you must be on the brink of death to give up your Maiden tickets. It's equally crappy that neither you nor Terra is going. Hope you get better soon, man.

Anyways, I saw Iron Maiden a couple years ago. It was pretty random actually, I was just walking down the street and a friend who I hadn't seen in forever pulls up beside me in his car and says, "We're going to see Iron Maiden. Want to come? Hop in!" I
It was a pretty awesome concert. Those guys sure know how to put on a show. They're old dudes now, but they have so much experience with playing concerts and it shows. They know exactly how to make the crowd happy, and they're just really comfortable on stage, always thinking up crazy antics that will amuse their fans.

Yea i'm feeling pretty crappy right now. Been sick for 2 weeks now going for my third. I don't know what the dicease is called in english but i think i heard somewhere that it's called kissing dicease, you get it through saliva and other body fluids.

They're not that old. Dio is still rocking and he is at least 15 years older than Maiden, Black Sabbath recently reunited and they're like 55 years old so the Maiden boys got a couple of years left.

Did you go to the Brave New World gig? That was like 2000. If i could i would go back in time and see the Brave new world gig at rock in rio, said to be the best Maiden gig ever. Haven't gotten around to get the dvd of that gig tho which is a shame.

I got my ticket sold 1 hour before the gig started! lol
I even earned a few bucks on it. Woo.

I saw bits of it on TV, it was decent, but halfway through I felt like drumming myself (I'm a drummer) so I turned it off and went away to play some of my own instead.

I'm not really a fan of Maiden's old stuff. I only dig "the classics".

If I can get a ride to St. Louis I'll be seeing Nine Inch Nails in October, whoooo.

What have the highlights of some of your concerts been? Let's get a discussion rolling.

I've seen quite a number of bands, and it's really hard to name a favorite.
I think a future favorite gig is coming up: Sentenced, 30th of July.
There's this festival in Sweden (which Rammstein is headlining!), and just recently I found out that Sentenced is gonna do their final Sweden gig there. Sentenced is one of my favorite bands, and their lyrics have meant so infinitely much for me. It has been a long-time dream to see them before they split up (which they are going to do within the next few months) and seeing it come true is really indescribable for me.

Anyway, out of the concerts I've seen so far my favorite would either be the first time I saw Nightwish; about a year ago. There was something special about that concert, and I had gotten my Once signed just before the gig (I lined up in 3 hours ). Great stuff. Also, the first time I saw Edguy... it was at a REALLY hot place, and everybody were leaning on each other. You really got the sense of "the metal family" when that happened. We were together in the heat, united to bang our heads with Tobias Sammet. There is nothing I hate more than a bad audience. When I saw Metallica, there was this ugly son of a bitch (I swear I'm going to hunt him down one day and slit his throat) who nicked my great right in front of the stage position. Now you might think "shit happens, it was a concert" but this fucker did it while I was helping a bloody uncouncious girl to escape from the damn sea of headbangers! I single-handedly lifted the girl over the fence (she had a very tight body by the way) and helped her to the guards. I WAS A DAMN HERO! And how does the world repay me? By granting that retard my place just when Master of Puppets started.

ASSHOLE!

I would love to see Edguy, they're a great band, and I did check out Metallica at Summer Sanitarium in 97 with Korn, Kid Rock, System of a Down and Powerman 5000.

Besides that my other two greatest concerts were Superjoint Ritual and Six Feet Under. Both were opened by a GREAT hardcore band from New York called Full Blown CHaos, and they're hitting it pretty big right now. Man and I almost met Phil Anselmo... fucker. That would have been the highlight of my life.

I've seen Edguy twice. They are awesome live, Sammet is a real entertainer. I love that, I hate bands with stiff members who just do their songs and then leave.

I haven't actually been to a single metal show yet in my life.... I was supposed to see Maiden but heck that fucked up(read above posts where i whine).

I'll comment on the show anyway as it was broadcasted on TV which i of course saw.

Great fucking show and the fans just made it better. No band got sing-a-longs like Maiden. You should have heard Running Free, the sing-a-long on that song was insane i almost started crying because i wasn't there but at the same time smiled just cause i had the fortune to see this.

Phantom of the Opera followed by Hallowed be thy Name was fucking knockout, 2 epic tracks in a row fuck that was awesome. Remember Tomorrow was also an amazing song Bruce never have done live before this tour as far as i know and it was fantastic.

The heavy three, Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills, The Trooper were amazing as they should be, great sing-a-long on Beast and Hills.

Bruce handled all the old Di'Anno songs better than DI'Anno did. Bruce is fucking amazing, they should re-record the 2 first albums with Bruce.

Dave, Adrian and Janick had a hell of alot of wicked solos through out the show, These three and Bruce is the core of Maiden music, The fury of three guitars playing together with Bruce's screaming and what not is World class.

Steve and Nicko are of course also amazing, But these two are a bit more laidback on stage, Nicko for a reason he is up there with the drums and he seems to know his shit. Steve joins in with the guitarists now and then which is cool to have all four of them playing side by side.

The energy Janick and Bruce shows on stage is hard to beat tho, they are fucking everywhere, Burce running around like a mad dog or something and Janick throwing his guitar in the air every other second it's amazing to see 45 year olds with such energy.

New studio album will be released next winter fuck i can hardly wait.

I am by no means a metal head, but System of a Down is my all-time favorite band.

I've got floor tickets to their concert on September 19th, in Calgary, AB. (Yes, I'm Canadian.)

I'm going to lose my mind at that concert.

You should read some pages in here and try out some music. While SOAD is not bad there is much. much better music in my opinion.

I'll have to agree on that, SOAD is excellent party music, but I have a hard time actually sitting down and dig it.
It's usually like that with commercial bands > very easy to listen to, but not appealing in the long run for most metalheads.

Then again, American Hero isn't a metalhead so it's understandable. Hehe.

Yea i think he would enjoy Thrash tho. I know people enjoying SOAD and thrash, seems like thrash is closer to SOAD then Heavy and Power for example.

It's not just their music I love. I love the band; each member, their little quirks and antics, and what they stand for.

Yeah I read an interview with them recently, they do seem like a funny bunch.
Also, their interest within politics is much more genuine than most bands who attempt to write lyrics about that subject.
