I've been d/ling music from a few new (to me) bands but haven't really found any I like that much, just started on Children of Bodom (Hatebreeder) though and they seem pretty cool...
just got back from a david bowie concert. ROCK!
I just got back from the Killswitch/Chimaira concert and I'm gonna be in so much pain tomorrow morning - it was well good...plus I managed to get the Chimaira set list when one of the band threw it into the crowd...
That 'Moses' thing they do is well ace...I've seen them before but I didn't go in the pit for it back then cos I wasn't into them at the time...

Me likes Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Blind Guardian, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Dimmu Borgir and Ensiferum to name a few. Though metal has been 2nd in my playlist as of late.
All of those are very good bands Zansatsu.
As far as concerts goes I've been on 2 festivals newly.
I saw Helloween, Testament, Children of Bodom, Nightwish, Evergrey, Edguy & Dimmu Borgir. GOOD STUFF!

I don't really care for any of the newer metal/hard rock bands, the majority just churn out powerchoards and scream cause they can't sing...

I am more of an 80's guy really, listening to what was called heavy metal back in the days, and have been called girlfriend metal by all my "friends" for the last two months:

i think i go way earlier [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] although it's not considered 'metal', it sure did influence it. the who, jimi hendrix, clapton, led zep, the doors, etc. best music came from the mid 60's till late 70's, imo. there will never be another musical age that's gonna bring so many rock legends out.
Shadowmantis, I really love that stuff as well! Zep's Tangerine is one of the songs I've listened to most lately. I dig all that 60's and 70's stuff as well, especially the new blues generation from Britain (Zeppelin, Cream, Jeff Beck, Yardbirds, Fleetwood Mac etc.), but perhaps even more those who were a little bit more rocked up (Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and pretty much any band Gary Moore played in).
However, I feel that it was the eighties were the time when everything exploded!

ive jst sold my ticket to T in the Park music festival, not really many metal bands playing but loads of good bands like franz ferdinand, snow patrol (their drummer served me soup!), funeral for a friend, etc playing. bit gutted i have to sell my ticket really [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]. ahwell i need the money for my japan trip which will be better!
