    METAL!!! \m/

Hey you guys listen to the new cd by Bullet For My Valentine, its good and alot better than the other one.
No one but the enemy will ever teach you how to destroy and conquer. Only the enemy shows you where you are weak. Only the enemy tells you when he is strong. And the rules of the game are what you can do to him and what you can stop him from doing to you. I am your enemy from now on. From now on, I am your teacher."

I'd like to thank the posters of this thread, yet again, for keeping me inundated with more kickass music than I can shake a fist at. In a few minutes I'll get up and go buy a moonsorrow record and check it out (terra, do you happen to like anything that sucks?)

I'll also take this opportunity to make a recommendation. I don't know what you guys think about cradle of filth, I myself am not a big fan of them (can't get past the theatrics) but they're song "nymphetamine" isn't bad, mostly due to Liv Kristine (from leaves' eyes) kicking major ass on it. I saw the video on the leaves eyes myspace page while checking for US tour dates (not until the fall *sniff*) Check out the video if you're interested:

I can safely say that everything Terra listens to is kickass. That's from my own experience though, 90% of my music library is stuff Terra recommended.

Hehehe... it's true, everything I listen to is 110% free from suckage.

Nymphetamine, incidentally, is one of few Cradle of Filth songs I like.
I've tried to get into them, but they just lack that special touch.
Oh and don't get me started on Dani's vocals...

Yeah, my metal catalogue is growing faster than everything else, and, I'm pretty sure, that if I go through this thread, at LEAST 90% of the things I've "discovered" will already have been mentioned by our resident transvestite. It's a little humbling, but its well worth it.

I'll probably be shunned by the people in this thread, but I recently saw Static-X and Ill Nino live in a dual concert - fucking awesome!

I've seen Static-X a couple times. Both were very good shows. Never seen Ill Nino live though. Do they play well live?

Shit yeah.... I hadn't heard much of their stuff before, just a few random tracks, but I might have to go and buy/d/l some now. So much music I want. Damn this thread.

    Bleh @ Ill Nino. :/

Static-X has a few good songs though... but mainly their older stuff, when the industrial touch was more genuine - hell you could even hear them flirting with Ministry (and all bands which do that automatically kick ass).

Edit: While on the topic of Ministry, get their 2004 album "Houses of the Mole". Now that's industrial metal at it's best. So full of energy!

They have a new album coming out this year too

And live they have Joey Jordison as drummer! Slipknot matters aside, Joey is AWESOME.

    WATCH IT!!

Ill Nino were fucking BORING live when I saw them. Gross ass.

The lineup for Ozzfest looks HORRIBLE with System of a Down headlining (Ozzy will only headline 10 dates) and Hatebreed, rumored Avenged Sevenfold, and Lacuna Coil (well, they're pretty good) Then the second stage has Atreyu, some random metalcore shit, FULL BLOWN CHAOS who are awesome.. and some other crap.

    OH AND STRAPPING YOUNG LAD

But even SYL couldn't save this lineup.

NEW TOOL ALBUM DUE ON MAY 2!!!

I saw Avenged Sevenfold with CKY and Bullets and Octane. It was beautiful.

I would go just for a7x and atreyu.

Some of you guys are way too picky. Going to a concert is great for the atmosphere alone, even if you don't particularly love the music - how could you ever find it boring? That's just stupid.

Maybe you have better bands (better atmosphere) to compare it with?

Yeah, I've been waiting quite *patiently* for this record. Tool seems to have no problems making us wait massive amounts of time for new records, but hey, I'm never dissappointed, and still not bored by any of they're records. This band rules. By the way, I remember reading an interview where Danny said that the record was heavily influenced by Meshuggah because of the tour they did together. This should mean something significantly louder and heavier than previous releases, maybe even hearing Maynard yell a lot more than in the last two records. Anyone else as excited about this as I am?

  19. #619
Wow, I saw them on that tour. I'd have never thought that they were influenced by them. I love listening to maynard hold out those long ass yells. And I wouldn't mind going back to a little harder rock. The entire Lateralus album was almost hypnotic, and that was great but it wasn't near as heavy as Undertow or Aenima. I can't wait damnit.

I take it you've never seen a really, really boring band like Ill Nino and fucking Chevelle. I walked out.
