That's like... the most weird thing I ever heard.

Save some money and buy yourself an external hard drive.
There's a lot of other things you can save there, but I won't mention it quite now.
They go by a hundred and something dollars.

What is your hardrive becomes corrupt or you get a virus and are forced to reformat? You lose everything. That's why I burn to cd every three episodes so I save space and have a back up.

How much space is your Naruto archive taking up?

if my western digital drive corrupts or norton 2003 misses a virus, then there is no hope left in the world

im more concerned about losing/scratching/crc-erroring a cd than a damaged hard drive

edit: besides, in the worst case scenario, i could always A) if im experience drive issues, transfer the eps to my spare 120 gb or B) get the episodes back from one of several other people i know who also has all the eps

I have 1-75 burned to DVD's (25 per DVD) so the amount of space used is negligable.

anime total is 30 GB. I deleted 60 One piece eps not too long ago. i only have a 60 GB HD and i was down to my last 10 MB :S

a virus won't really force you to reformat, but a virus could just do the job for you

they're not really likely to go around infecting videos (since you only watch a video, you dont execute it), so you wouldn't have to delete your naruto vids to remove a virus. but of course they could just corrupt or erase everything themselves.

i got 13.8 gb naruto, and after burning kenshin i can confirm it is indeed a hassle to burn them

lol, what is?

i don't really like listening to the intro/ending songs every time, and it's kind of a hassle having to skip them every time.

and if you watch two of them back-to-back, the beginning of the second one will occasionally have a recap of what you just watched in the first one. so i just edited that bit out. in some episodes it can be as long as 4-5 minutes.

EDIT:

episode 81 is 174mb before editing, 125mb afterwards.

Burn sfv/md5/par2 files to each episode to the CD too. And then keep par2 recovery files with 3% redundancy on your backup server. Works.

you dont know how unorganized i am with cds...i find them to be a burden to me

besides..cds DO have limited lifespans, and they can only be read from a limited # of times too (albeit's a pretty high number though)...but ive heard of tests that shown that there have been alot of cdrs that have been around that dont last more than 5 years!

not to mention my incentive for actually watching an episode of naruto or showing it to other people becomes exponentially smaller as the inconvenience of having to dig up each cd to find the desired episode increases with each extra cd i have to burn

I happen to have bought an external hard drive. I use it mostly for anime and I must say that Naruto is taking up quite alot. I also have both Yu Yu Hakusho movies, the 3 Tenchu Muyo movies and 1 OVA, All the episodes of Tenchi Universe, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros. and more, lol. I'm planning on burning them onto cd's but I havent had much time to do it.
This fantastic Sousuke sig was made by the one and only Lucifus! Thanks man!
