I found this searching in google for Jiraiya, I guess it is the story of Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru in Japanese mythology. Check it out http://www.kiseido.com/printss/ji.html

Hey, that does seem kinda close to Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru. Im not sure about Jiraiya and Tsunade getting married (I havent read the manga since I know its ahead of the anime) but the part about Jiraiya learning toad magic and Orochimaru learning serpent magic is somewhat accurate to the Jiraiya and Orochimaru we know. Maybe Kishimoto based some of his characters on some Japanese mythology.
This fantastic Sousuke sig was made by the one and only Lucifus! Thanks man!
I'm guessin they will have a more than friends relationship, but there will be something in between them... I dunno what, and she will prolly be a snail lover...
There's a whole thread about this called Jiraiya forehead protector, where all it has been discussed already.Originally posted by: -Sharingan-Kakashi-

Intresting
Interesting...
whats so interesting?
wow.. more japanese mythology. great stuff!
i don't give kishimoto the credit that he deserves... i guess it's because i assumed kishimoto made naruto a manga just for fighting....
Wow - more references to mytholgy, thanks -Sharingan-Kakashi-
Cool! i didn't know "Naruto" have stuffs somehow tied to Japanese Myth... thanks man!
of course it does, there are more than a few animes that are linked to japanese mythology and legends, generally these are the good animes
Interesting indeed...I especially like how Jiraiya is referred to as "The Gallant Jiraiya" in the myth, but in Naruto he has been turned into a "Super Pervert"
Make sure no one spoils here. or the maker of the thread and the spoiler gets in trouble.
Kishimoto borrows heavily from both Japanese mythology (Jiayra/Tsuande/Orochimaru - Frog/Slug/Snake story) and Chinese Mythology (Hokage's monkey summon and the diamond pole are allusions to the chinese classic "Journey to the West").Originally posted by: -Sharingan-Kakashi-

Yea I noticed that he borrowed that from the tle of the monkey king. Hehe anyone remember that anime called Monkey Magic?
Either way I think its cool to see some of these myths put into life. He is doing a nice job doing it.
