one thing we DO know is that kakashi didnt have the sharingan before oro left konoha, since he mentions it when he sees kakashi during the prelims
if someone wanted to go and build a timeline, then we could figure out whether or not kakashi was a chuunin at the time that he first had it

LOL I thought it meant that he left the village to them. He did everything in his power to keep it from being destroyed. Because the village is there home, its what they love. He protected it and the people. Isn't that what everyone loves? There home? But then again when he said he would understand later I guess it could be something else but thats what I thought it meant.
Maybe after the Uchiha Clan got wiped out he just took it from one of the dead people who was fighting with it at the time they died.
I don't think Kakashi would have taken it from a dead person but if the Sharingan came from the Byakugan as most of use could tell since thats the only explanation then you couldnt get it from a dead person since it requires charka to use it. So what i think is that Kakashi got it when he was an ANBU as part of some test to see if the eye would function outside of the bloodline. His scar across his eye proves it wasnt natural. Maybe the guy mentioned Obito-san at the monument scene, Maybe it was his eye and it was given to him as a memorial. Anyways the Shinegami rocks!!!! Yes Oro no more justu's for you. MUHAHAHAHAHA. Kakashi didn't have it when he joined the ANBU.Oro is 50,Kakashi is 25.The fox came 13 years ago,Oro left when the hokage title was passed down,roughly around 13 years ago.Jiraiya taught Kakashi,Jiraiya and Oro are the same age.Oro has seen Kakashi grow up,he'd know.Anyways,Kakashi probably joined ANBU when he was 16-18,there's no way he could've joined the ANBU at age 12,it's not possible.
its been said that those with an advanced bloodline are the geniuses or w/e. but kakashi doesnt, as far as i know, but he was a chunnin at what 6? then there are geniuses like neji and sasuke who are 13 or something, trying to become chunnin. also if the hyugga clan's eye thing (dont remember sp) is more powerful then why does everyone seem more interested in the sharingan? or why did orichimaru want the sharingan instead of the hyugga thing. seems the show makes the sharingan out to be the most powerful technique, since orichimaru wanted it, kakashi/sasuke has it, and the next villain does also.

I have always wonder that. But doesn't the Sharingon give special techiniques that come with the power of the eye or something? But I personally think the Sharingon is more powerful bc the Hyuuga cant copy, if you have a sharingon user up against Hyuuga, couldn't they just watch them and be able to read their movements. Its good to see their chakra but if they have sharingon and can read their movements then its really no use in being able to see it. Also because Orchi said he didn't have that eye before, doesn't mean he didn't get it when Orchi was there. He never said that, he just said, he didn't use to have it and like him he wanted it. He never said Kakashi didn't have it when he left did he? If he did I never caught that part.
Well obviously the sharingan has ablilties the hyuuga eye dont have and the hyuuga has abilities the sharingan dont have like see chakra. So to summarise it up they r both strong in their own specific way. Of course, if I can choose..I would have the sharingan [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] cos it looks badass and its copying ability..great for exams!! but then again...I wonder if u can see through clothes with the hyuuga.....
byakugan vs sharingan: similarities
1) both are eye-type bloodlines inherited through clans....they are also believed to have similiar origins
2) both give the user enhanced sight, allowing him to see through illusions, and to detect really fast enemy movement with lighting quick reflexes
differences
1) byakugan lets the user see all around him, as well as through solid objects and great distances
2) byakugan lets the user see the enemy's chakra and organs and even microscopic things like the tenketsu
3) sharingan allows the user to copy jutsus
4) sharingan can "hypnotise" the enemy, giving the user a slight influence on the enemy's decisions
there's prolly more with the sharingan.....but its hard to say since they've only explained a few of the things that kakashi and sasuke have done so far using it

Don't give a spoiler, we didn't know that for sure, it could have been somebody who had something like what happened to kakashi happen. If you absolutely must give a spoiler, then at least use a tag...i want to see what happens from the anime, you are spoiling the suspense.

Personally, I'd rather have the Byakugan, but only if I could use gentle fist. Because the best part about teh sharingan is the abilities that it shares with the byakugan... (example: Kakashi has 100+ jutsu's, but his strongest is chidori)
basically, its not the size that counts, its how you use it
