Let's talk about Kenshin Manga, OVA, TV, Movie. **Spoiler**

Okay, I've got Kenshin TV 1-95, Kenshin OVA1, Kenshin OVA2, Kenshin - The Movie, Kenshin manga 1-255, All 9 soundtracks, All art-books, Even the the making of kenshin. I've seen all those series like 5-6 times in like a month and I still don't get some things straight..

... Why did the TV contain fillers from episode 63 and up, I've read the manga and they didn't follow the manga after episode 63, anyone know and has a statement or a very reasonable thought about that?

All those tv-episodes were just a waste of time... and OVA2 was Bullshit, why did they make that ova2, showing Kenshin dead, when he didn't die in the manga? they should't be allowed to do such thing :S
If they could cut out 64 and up and replace them with the episodes following the manga, and TAKE AWAY the OVA2, and make a longer OVA1, then it would've been the best ever, though OVA1 was still good, the others weren't that good, and as I said, OVA2 and fillers 64 and up = BS, do not watch them

Did they make that rediculous OVA2 and fillers because of the budget? no more money, or like the creator of kenshin was bitching with someone and did that?

Like how it happens in a lot of good mangas, the anime started too soon and reached the Manga before it ended, so the studio had to decide wheather to drop the anime and wait for the manga to be completed or to try it on thier own.

Obviously they chose the bad option, and started making the "German knights, Spanshi fencer, Water clan and amaxa shougu" arcs, which all suck (i didn't watch them, but everybody i know says i'm lucky).

I have no idea about OVA 2, though, probably another stupid budget problem...


I liked the first OVA and the TV series, espically the shishio arc. the manga was nice, but i didn't get any touch of the fightings, and almost none of the villians appelead to me (Enishi was cool, but all his sidekicks were so lame...). in the anime, i was going crazy over the fighting scenes (someone should hire that anime crew and force them to animate Naruto) and the first OVA is one of the best anime's i've ever seen (even tough it left some parts out).

edit: i didn't mean i haven't watched OVA2, but that i don't know what's with the diffrence from the manga. I watched it twice, and fell asleep on both of them, i watched some AMVs from it later on, so i know it looks great.

Don't, Please do <u>NOT</u> watch OVA2, you'll get disappoited.. it was just a big failure... however OVA2 has been stated as being the best drawn and animated, in other words, it has the highest quality ever, but what is quality when it sucks anyway.

but yeah ... if you dont like drama dont watch OVA 2

PS. i have heard theories that vary from the anime actually out paced the manga to some disagreement at the top about how to develope the series. In the end doesnt really matter.

Err, what do you mean? Kenshin didn't died in the manga, but in the OVA2 which is not following the manga he did, manga is original and best, the authentic shit, he did not died in the manga so that's the thing that we should acknowledge, not that he died like in OVA2

Anime, manga, movies, books and comics. They are all different forms to tell stories. If the manga differs from the anime, don't hold it against the anime. Treat them as individual stories, don't relate them to each other. The anime being well done (not if it was accurate) should be your focus.

Despite the fact that I despise most dramas, I found that the humanity it displayed in Kenshin and the emotions in Kaoru were absolutely amazing. This was a great way to finish off the OVA series.

Then my friend, I'll have to say that you're alone, OVA2 was a big mistake according to everyone who "knows" kenshin... it was not watsuki's idea! god damnit, he should've been the one to choose.

Well, then there's two of us being alone. I liked how Kenshin died, it ended everything. Although it wasn't in the manga it was still worthy. Just 'cause the manga is, as you say, "the authentic shit" doesn't mean the story is limited to it.

Oh, and everything after the shishio ark was total bullshit of fillers.. annoying stuff. Just like that episode where naruto was going to the stadium *sigh*

Dude i liked ova2 it was geting tireing kenshin being all godlike and shit. 'bout time he died lol j/k i liked it sad, good plot good animations. pretty much evrything is answered u see he has a son kenji..and also shows what happens to everybody.as they started living there separate ways..he had to die and we needed to know how! and ive been watching rk since like 2001. ya it wasnt his idea o well but see its not kenshin its samurai x!!!!!!! baka!! lol...

But if u didnt get OVA2... The title was enishi was for OVA2 to show the fight between kenshin and enishi in anime. and also to close the kenshin story for good. I don't see how it was crappy. OVA2 skips around really really alot... it starts when enishi kidnaps karou then skips to kenshin fighting enishi. when kenshin fought yahiko that was the end of manga. Kenshin got lost during the war is AFTER the manga. kenji is a kid when manga ended. kenji is already a teen during OVA and learning some of hiten mitsurugi but hiko wont teach all.

Yeah but the fight in OVA2 between Kenshin and Enishi is so short, compare that to the fight in the manga, you don't even see a ryo. And the way he kidnaps karou in the animne is difference from the manga too

If you have read the manga you automatically starts to dislike OVA2, it's the law of narture, atleast in this case.

ive seen all of the eps of kenshin tv and all of the ovas, and i liked the tv series better, but the ova was a sad anime, i mean the part where kenshin dies that is, that was very moving, i never new that kaoru and kenshin had a son till i watched the ova, but over all i love all of the kenshin series and shit, havent read the manga yet, i plan on to, but just dont want to go look for the manga bc i know its going to take me while to look for all of the mangas

OVA is Original Video Animation.

The 2 part OVA is basically Rurouni Kenshin - Seisouhen. it is to close the kenshin story once and for all. very good and sad. though kinda stupid since the death isnt being killed but from a std

the episode where they show kenshin getting his scar is Rurouni Kenshin - Reminisence. that is the 4 OVA that is before the actucal series. those r the episodes with tomoe in it.

if you dont like it then it sux to be you, but in the end its up to the directors and the dudes who sign the checks. they arent going to cry over pissing you off because its evident from this thread alone that there are ppl out there who like the 2nd OVA series?

also how the hell is it not official? the creator of the series has to approve the OVA before it can even go into pre-production.

so whether you like it or not kenshin is dead. and its official too.
