From what I've heard they have consciously maked those names unreadable because otherwise it would ruin the story, some people say it's fully readable and translate the names.... Jiraya, Uzumaki Arashi, Uzumaki Naruto....

ok thanks, cuz i was thinking whatever that name is before naruto's is 4th's but it looked too much like scribble to me.

and yeah i highly doubt that it is Uzumaki Arashi.

I haven't read the manga so what I say is just my opinion and can't be considered a spoiler. Well logicaly that proves that what I thought whas true (about the 4th being the father of Naruto) since the 4th can summon Gamabunta and now we know that he is also an Usumaki. These are my thougts and anyone who have seen eps.1-78 can resault to that.

There IS no definate character by the name of Uzumaki Arashi. From Japanese sources, there is a hypothesis that the name next to Naruto's on the scroll is possibly 'Arashi,' but Japanese kanji characters have many possible meanings, and the last name itself is not legible whatsoever.
