RE: Iraq War

see thats whats funny about some of these guys in europe (no offense talking about a certain few), they claim to know whats going on in the us when they dont know shit. where i live gas is 1.91 right now for regular, in massachusetts its 2.01 regular, if you think thats cheap chambers then your an idiot. (which we already know) its a common misconception that we get oil from the middle east, actually europe does, the us gets the majority of its oil from alaska and south america. the reason gas prices have risen in the us is because venezuela is in civil war right now, among other reasons of course.

is that a gallon or a litre? AFAIK its by the gallon over there right? we sell ours by the litre, whey do you think your country has so many big as trucks an shit? you wouldnt EVER see a 20yr old over here in a toyota.

price at the garage next to me is 79p per litre, theres abotu 4.5 litres in a gallon so that means that for a gallon of petrol over here it costs us £3.55. so in terms of real money ours is far overpriced compared to yours. now if we translate that to dollars (exchange rate being 1.8 ROUGHLY at the mo) that gives us 6.39. so there you go yours is 2 dollars ours is 6. now tell me how is your expensive? i think you shousl stfu, i lived in america for 18months over the last 3 years, so dont tell me what i 'dont' know about your country. and dont coment on how europeans think they know abotu america, coming form the single most naive and close minded country in the world (and youve just proved it cos EVERYONE in the fuckin world knows US petrol is EXTREMELY cheap)

EDIT: oil is a world economy, if production drops dramatically in one place the price goes up everywhere.

Hmm. Recent news says UN is finally going into Iraq. Thats good.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/news/7...s_200803.shtml

I was trying to find for Kofi annan's speech after the bombing of the UN building in Iraq last year. And because of that, they wouldn't go in. Security problems.

id shoot myself before apologizing to your sorry ass, your standard of living must be very higher in the UK than the US or else no one would be able to pay 6 europound whatevers per gallon. so it evens out jolly old chap!

RE: Iraq War

talk about being a hypocrite, you say we are ignorant to what happens over there!?!? we use pound steriling, not fuckin euros. also out standard of living is lower than your country, our minimum wage is like 4.20 i think, your is hihger than that. our petrol, ale and cigarettes cost a lot more than yours, as do houses- A HELL OF A LOT MORE. cars do. clothes do. heck even macdonalds is more expensive than over there.
so i suggest you shut ur fat ass up assuming things that you CLEARLY HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT.

RE: Iraq War

for one i was being sarcastic about the europound you dumbass and second the US is a lot larger than the UK, prices are different everywhere. for instance in massachusetts my cousins just bought a 3 bedroom house for $300,000 in florida where i live now you can buy a 3 bedroom house for $100,000. in massachusetts minimum wage is $7.25, in florida its $5.25. and your also proving my point, if things cost a lot more then the people must be making a lot more money to pay for things.

13. #253

RE: Iraq War

yes but you dont get it do you. a decent three bedromo house in the UK would cost in excess of 160k wich is about 280k in pounds, now i know for a fact that i can buy a three bedroom house in florida for 200k with a garage and swimming pool and a huge kitchen and two reception rooms and a driveway for two. thing is that would cost me 600k at LEAST in the UK. at the end of the day things are MUCH more cheaper in the US than they are in the UK, EVERYTHING in the UK is epexnsive even cars that are made 30 miles away from me are cheaper to be brought abroad than they are form here. sure some places sell it for 79p a litre, thats cheap! som epalces sell it for well over a pound a litre. also it doesnt always go if people are spending more they are also making more. people in saudi arabia fro example spenc on average 200 dollars on fuel a year yet earn the equiv of the minimum wage for switzerland.

sorry abou t the insanely bad spelling but iam slightly drunk after england playing (AND FUCKING DRAWING) againt japan!

England should have put Shaun Wright-Phillips in the squad, if only as an attacking alternative on the bench...but with Jamo being the only City player in the squad I can't really be arsed supporting them...not much of a patriot so I don't really care about England that much...it'd be pretty cool if we won a tournament though . Friendlies are a load of crap anyway...

i think both s-k and chambers have some huge misconceptions about the other side. First, items are cheaper in the US for sure across the board because we don't pay taxes out of our ass for everything like most european countries do. Also, the US has been off of the gold standard since 1937, and there has been no gold in fort knox since the early 70's so a nuke on fort knox, chambers, would be a waste of nuke. Third point here, living in the US for 18 months does not qualify you for shit my parents were immigrants as well some other family friends and they all say it took them at least 5-10 years to fully adjust and understand American culture, and they same goes for European countries, unless you've lived there for an extended period of time you know shit about the country.

Another thing that bothered me, someone in the first pages of the post was treating the US government institute separate from its people. The US government is so horribly intertwined with its voting base, if you screw up once (and don't cover it up) you are done, the US is not like parliament where you vote for a party, in the US you vote for the person. Believe me, government is complex as hell (Political science is one of my two majors) so don't try to make any assumptions about Kerry or Bush, a lot of what all of you have been saying in wrong.

Last, some of you are young and some of you are older, but all of you need to grow up. This discussion is not about pride, or whose country is "better," this discussion is about being civil and enriching your intellect. All of you need to grow up and fast.
