Kishimoto's Fanservice

Damn, after 4 months of subpar chapters, he finally gives the fans a treat. Not only does he bring back one of the most popular characters (Lee), but then a few chapters later he brings back the Sand Trio (Gaara, Temari, and Kankurro). I wonder if Tsunade made a deal with the new Kazekage (Baki?) and asked for their assistance, or if they just came on their own.

Either way, I like what Kishimoto is doing. Some say it is too much at one time, but I disagree. I mean, we just sat through 4 months of forest combat, we needed this!

I can't wait to see what he has in store next

Kankurro/Karasu X 2 (or 3)/Kiba vs Sakon/Ukon
Temari/Shikamaru Vs Tayuya
Lee/Gaara Vs Kimimaro
Sasuke vs Naruto (you know its gonna happen now)

Err? baki as kazekage, is he really the strongest shinobi in Wind country?? I hardly doubt that, He's just a regular jounin, it's like if gai, asuma, kakashi became hokages...

i do think tsunade has done something to strengthen up konoha. she did say "i've already considered that and something has been done."

Yeah, I think that the Sand Village agreed to it, to pay back Konoha for invading them before. Since they were betrayed by Orochimaru, and he killed their leader, they would probably be very willing to help out. Especially, Gaara, Temari, and Kankurro.

It is going to be cool to see Kankurro use his two puppets to go two on two with Ukon and Sakon. I think that will be a cool match to watch.

Perhaps Temari and Shikamar will teamup to fight Tayuya, but Temari could take her by herself now. Since all of these guys are drained they shouldn't be a problem. (Kimimaro isn't as bad as the rest though, he was just using Taijutsu as far as I could tell)

Oh and I think that Baki could be Kazekage. It didn't seem like Sand Village was that strong. Baki fought to a standstill (as far as we know) with Gemma, and he is a bad ass, he just doesn't die.

Sasuke vs Naruto though...thats gonna be good.

I wouldn't also count out the 4 ladies left - Tenten, Hinata, Ino, and Sakura. I bet they will show up once they hear about Lee leaving.

Maybe Tsunade sends them after Lee, IF she doesn't know about the Sand Trio.

Then all 12 Gennins will be reunited (minus Shikamaru since he's a Chuunin, and possibly Neji and Chouji)

Well, it actually makes sense that Baki might be Hokage.

Think about it; he was assigned to be the jounin sensei of the three strongest genin in Sand, who also happen to be the Kazekage's children. That alone speaks highly for his qualifications.

Secondly, the invasion mission was mostly given to the team because of Gaara, but I highly doubt that they would have gotten the mission if they didn't have a tactically competent sensei to go along with it.

Well, he had the sense of making a peace treaty with Konoha, that is a good sign.
Yeah, I am also thinking that he will be the Kazekage, also because that pratically the only ninja we know by name, except for the trio and the deceased Yashamaru...


And, Kakashi-sensei, you forgot Shino. As a matter of fact, too bad he didn't get to fight Kankuro, at least in front of other people. His attacks were very intelligent and calculated. Personally, I think he is at a Chunnin level, just as Shikamaru.

Jeez, I did forget Shino...oh well. Hopefully him and his dad saved Chouji and Neji. It seems like their bugs can help people too, but I dunno. If they didn't I hope Tsunade did.

Yeah, enough time without knowing what happened to Neji and Chouji.

And speaking of Shino, the other day I understood what Kiba calls him: Mushiotaku (bug-freak).
Knowing that the word otaku has this meaning of irrational fan of anime, I found it quite funny.

Like a few of you have also said, I believe that Tsunade was fully aware of the approaching Sand Nin. She most likely (and covertly) set up an Alliance with the Country of Wind / Sand Village. She most likely threatened them into an Alliance, as some form of repentance for foolishly invading Konoha. Being superior to the Sand, their [the Sand] shinobi probably now fall under the orders (when necessary) of the current Hokage.

On another tangent, we have seen tons of (supreme kick-ass) surprise returns .. all we need now, for more battle-irony, is for Sakon & Ukon to somehow destroy Kankuro's puppet. Needing another person to aide him in battling the two Level 2 Sound-Nin .. Shino arrives. That way, all teams would be composed of former opponents.

On a final note, Kishimoto is surely delivering the fan-favorites .. Namely, my favorite .. Lee! Wewt ..

Some are going to be losers, and what's that other bogus cliche .. there can only be a few chiefs, in the massive lots of the indians. Haw haw ..

This irrational hatred for a specific charater is rather amusing. Makes one wonder what sort of issues are behind that... But that's beside the point.
Anyway, personally, I used to hate Sasuke and Sakura, but nowadays, I am just slighty annoyed by them.
The reason, both characters didn't evolve.
Chapter one
Sasuke: Naruto, you're weaker than me. You suck. I gotta kill my brother. And eventually, kill you, too. I gotta get powerful to kill my brother, at any cost. Sakura, you're annoying

Chapter 100 and whatever:
Sasuke: Naruto you're stronger than me. You suck. I gotta kill my brother. And eventually, kill you, too. I gotta get powerful to kill my brother, at any cost. Sakura, you're annoying

Chapter one
Sakura: Sasuke-kun, I love you and will do anything you want. Naruto, you're annoyng.

Chapter 100 and whatever
Sakura: Sasuke-kun, I love you and will do anything you want. You want to kill your brother in a stupid revenge. Fine. I will help you out. Naruto, you saved me, but I don't believe it. Naruto, you're annoying. And, oh, go save Sasuke while I sit here in this street bench and cry.
Well, Sakura is kinda worse, she keeps adding insult to injury.

All other characters have changed one way or another or showed their skills. That's interesting. Sasuke and Sakura are just predicatable and boring. And Itachi will go the same way after he shows all his sharingan tricks and after we finally find out why he killed his family.
Naruto wants to be the Hokage, and he probably will, since he's the main character. One can say, that's predictable.But, we don't know *how* he's going to get there. If you watch closely, there's not a single hero who is known for his wits. Best example, Hercules. Naruto, being the true hero that he is, is not very bright, so how he will deal with that? Will he have Shikamaru as his advisor? Will we have kinda Ulysses/Achilles situation here?Those are interesting questions.
Right now, for one, Naruto is learning how to work in a team. May sound as a simple lesson, but you have to consider the fact that he is deseperate for acknowledgment. So, an apparently simple situation, will become a true challenge, when the right character is in it. And that's absolulety cool.
Besides, to him, it's a somewhat new situation, since this is an A rank mission, and more is at stake. He had to learn to trust and obey Shikamaru, in a life or death situation, while they were dealing with Jourobouru. He had to yeld his personal power to somebody else, who he thought as his equal. Maybe we didn't give too much important to it. But On a closer look, for Naruto is a turning point in his development. Chouji, on the other hand, knows Shika, for him, the situation is not as challenging as it is for Naruto. Sasuke would never do that, because he's too arrogant and blinded by obsession.
Also I believe that he, in his pride, would want to defeat Kimimaru alone. But he had to go for Sasuke.
The other characters involved in this mission are having to deal with former enemies. How will that work out?. Did Gaara really change? Those are interesting questions.
Meanwhile, Sasuke is running away from his problems, *again*. That's utterly boring.
So, comparing those different situations, Sakura and Sasuke are pretty dull as characters. But in all that, what annoys me is the fact that both Sakura and Sasuke are considered main characters. I don't think they deserve it. I can think of quite a few others more deserving of that. For me, they're just big disappointments as characters.

with the 'bring back of characters'... why are people even like shino, hinata, possibly ino even necessary in the story anymore?

i can see why they brought back gaara and co. the sand fucked up and tsunade made them make it up. but what's the point of bringing back shino? actually, i don't really care about hinata or ino coming back cuz they have some relevance; hinata is related to neji and ino and sakura are rivals. but what about shino? what relationship does he have with anyone? i really hope the don't bring him back. he sucks as a character.

Whats this to do with Fanservice??? However I should agree, that Kishimoto needs more Fanservice. Everytime a girl gets hit, her clothes must be blown away.
